Rate this book
This time it's personal.

Seth Lane is surprised to find that he has recently been promoted as Captain after coming back from vacation. While he's been wanting this promotion for a long time, he's still unsure whether he can handle the stress of solving cases at his usual breakneck speed while also leading an entire department.

Especially now. Since one of their own is the victim in his newest case. Dani Moore, the sister of Detective Moore, was out with friends having a good time when she was kidnapped and attacked. Her attackers are out there, but can she remember enough to help Seth and his team find them?

Seth is more determined than ever to find the offenders but will he be able to give Dani the answers she needs as the pressure mounts?

I am a fan of this series and excited that Ashley is getting to lead this new case.

In the newest version of the Sin series, Ashley takes the lead on an investigation that affects one of the team. Using the skills she has learned and a few hits influenced by Zee, not only is the case solved, but respect is earned.

This time, it's personal. And, it takes all of Seth's skills to help solve a case involving one of the Force's own.

The plot line for Pride is complex, riveting and full of nail-biting suspense. It moved along at a breakneck pace and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way. The characters have a welcome familiarity, and it is easy to become drawn into their lives and concerned with the outcome of their fate. Once I started this book, I didn't want to put it down, until I knew how everything would play out. This is definitely the best of the series!

Seth Lane's journey from Detective to Captain has been a high-octane thrill ride full of excitement and danger, and I have enjoyed every moment of my "ride along".

I have also enjoyed being a part of Lee's journey, as he has grown and developed as an author. And, I think readers are really starting to become aware of the full depth of his literary potential.

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

If you haven't fallen in love with Seth yet then you will by the time you finish reading pride. His dynamic with Zee is one that makes you not only fan yourself with the heat that they build but also a aim for a love that they share together. In Detecting Pride you are kept on your toes with this suspense as you follow along Ashley and Seth on this case. I love how Ashley is out of Seth's shadow and proving her worth as the lead detective on the case. This is a tough case when it comes to dealing with one of your owns family member. You have Dani Moore case with this one, Clayton Moore's sister. You'll love every second of Ashley breaking down the case and taking down the bad guy. Mikey Lee has this way with his writing that you can't help but to love. He just pulls you in with his humor and his way with suspense. I love the Sin series and Detecting Pride lives up to everything I hoped it would.

In true Mikey Lee fashion, you get the steam right out of the gate! I always love how Mikey writes Seth & Zee. They are cute and funny and flirty with each other and genuinely have the hots for each other.
On the professional front, Seth just got promoted - will that be his prideful downfall? nah.
Ashley, whom we encounter in previous Sin series books, gets a case of her own; finally, lead on a case after a long journey as assistant to Seth. It would be easy for Ashley to let her pride get in the way of solving a very delicate case.
Maybe Detective Moore's own pride will fuel any anger at getting passed over for Captain and jeopardize the case?
I love how, in all the Sin books, the sin creeps in in multiple ways.

After taking some time off Detective Seth Lane came back to his job to find out that he had gotten a promotion to Captain but that doesn’t stop him from taking cases. This next case hits closer to home then he every thought he would get, when the victim is one of his officers sister. Lane with the help of the new him Ashley Hart do all they can go help keep one of their own away from this case while doing everything they can to figure out who this dirtbag or dirtbags are that hurt their victim. How far is someone willing to go to protect themselves without letting their pride get in the way. This was a good read kinda slow in the beginning, it slowly picks up and ends just the way you would want.

Seth has been promoted to Captain and Ashley has stepped into Seth's old role but knows she will still need him to help her solve cases. When Detective Moore's sister is kidnapped this case gets more personal then ever. With Ashley taking the lead on the case Seth just sits and guides her this is all new to him and he knows Ashley can handle it.. Following what she has learned from Seth and his hints to get the case solved how long will it take to bring justice to one of their own? When the pieces of the puzzle fall in place the pride in Seth for Ashley is obvious.. Hoping this is not the end of Seth Lane

What I liked/Didn’t Like: An incredible addition to the series and very well written. I love the way the author brings you into the case and shows you how he solves it. A great crime romance. I love She and Zee’s relationship and how he has taken Ashley under his wing to teach her how to be a great detective.

The latest in the series has Ashley moving out of Seth's shadow and leading the investigation involving Dani, Detective Moore's sister. When the case hits the brakes, Ashley gets a bit of inspiration after a girls night with none other than Zee and a few of her friends. Solving the case is like a jigsaw puzzle, work on the outer edges first then the rest will start to fall into place.
Just like the first three, there is plenty of steam, suspense and enough humor sprinkled in to keep the pages turning and before you know it, you're at the end.

Detecting Pride is book 4 in the Sin Series by Mikey Lee. I recommend that you check out now only this book but the rest in the series. All the books are a great combination of crime solving for the detectives within the precinct and steamy moments between Seth and Zee!
With another crime to solve, Seth has been promoted and is passing on the baton to Ashley as she is now the lead detective in the case.
Sometimes is luck and other times it’s the result of good police work. Either way Ashley has taken the skills she has learned while working with Seth to figure out who the bad guy is.

Seth Lane just fresh back from his getaway with Zee, to find he's been promoted to Captain of the department, and a brand new case that's personal to them, his buddy Det. Moore's sister Dani, the victim of a horrible crime. Ashley takes on the case, and is doing a great job, but can she solve the case and lock the criminal away before it's too late?
Great writing once again by Mikey, I loved this series and hate to see it end. 5 crime stars for this one, make sure you grab it to finish out the series!

This is a new author and series for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I just wish I would’ve read the first books in the series but I will be reading them in the future. Seth has been promoted to Captain and leaves Ashley to fill in the lead detectives spot. The saying it takes a village to solve the case, well that comes into play here. It will take all of the squad to solve this case and it’s against one of their own.

I love this author’s writing style. He mixes his humor with passion beautifully. I can’t wait to see with he has in store for us next!

Mikey Lee has the unique ability to blend mystery, intrigue, steam, humor and yes even some romance in his stories. In Detecting Pride, the team has to work together to solve the crime as one of their own is brutally attacked. Seth Lane has been moved to the position of Captain and that leaves Ashley Hart to take the lead on this case. The squad must pull out all the stops and solve the puzzle on this one. The camaraderie shows through. Even Seth's wife Zee is brought in to lend a hand. It was a rare treat to be able to look into this world again. I hope to read more from this team.

Another Great Mikey Lee!

Detecting Pride is Book four in the Sin series. It was great! Mikey has a way to blend in mystery, suspense and even romance to create a wonderful story!
Seth gets promoted to Captain moving Ashley to lead detective on the new case. Dani Moore, sister of Detective Moore, was attacked. Through some luck, good police work and some help from Zee they manage to solve the case! Seth trained Ashley well!
I really enjoyed this book and the whole series! I’m sorry to see it end!

First book I have read by this writer and in this series. It was different than what I normally read but enjoyable from beginning to end. I loved the suspenseful part of this storyline. It was indeed a page turner waiting to see what was going to happen and who was the person who did the crime. I enjoyed all the characters and the chemistry between them all. Has me wanting to read all the books in this series. I would recommend reading this series if the rest are as good as this one was.

This is the final book in the series and Mikey Lee out did himself with this book. Seth finally made chief and has a new case on his plate but now that he is in charge, he hands the case over to Ashley now his lead detective.
This book is hot and steamy and a lots of intrigue.
Mikey Lee's writing pulls you right in and keeps you there to the very end!

This was my first book by this author, and I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. Seth has been promoted, with Ashley filling in in his old spot. Seth and Zee are couple goals, and I enjoyed their relationship. When Detective Moore’s sister is kidnapped, Seth and Ashley work with Moore and his sister to try to find out what happened to her.

I’d recommend this book.
