This is a flexible, self directed course to help postdocs from any discipline to develop the mindset, knowledge and skills required to identify and act on ideas and opportunities in careers inside and outside academia, including setting up ventures. You will learn alongside likeminded postdocs from across Europe and will hear from a range of researchers who started a venture.

This course is for you if you are open to learning to think entrepreneurially, curious about entrepreneurship or ready to take your idea to the next level. This course provides a great starting point for researchers thinking of developing an idea or research into a business or those looking to develop their independent research topic or work with industrial partners.

Familiarise yourself with the language, concepts and processes used in the entrepreneurial world, apply these to your ideas and build your confidence and credibility to discuss your (business) ideas with various stakeholders.

Even if you realise that you’re not ready yet or do not want to set up your own venture, you will have gained valuable experience and learnt how to apply the mindset and skills to pursue your career ambitions in or outside academia.

Course commitment: The course is a self directed course to fit around your other commitments. We do however run the course with cohorts, with a start date. We aim to take you through the course in 3 months to keep up momentum - but you have access to the course for 6 months from the start date of the course. We suggest an average of 6 hours per unit for viewing videos, reading resources, tasks and quizzes. Units 1,2 4 & 5 require shorter time commitment. Units 3,3a,3b,3c require longer time commitment *
