For the last couple of years Matthew Kent has run Blowing Up The Workshop - a middle-ground for artists, musicians and other peripheries to make and explore the possibilities of the mixtape online. The project has various influences (not least of which is the trend for weekly podcasts from music magazines) and combines artists from disparate practices and genres; having recently commissioned work from Ben UFO, Frozen Reeds, graphic designer Hassan Rahim, artist Benedict Drew and the London record shop Honest Jon’s.
