Thèmes et axes de recherche

La recherche est concentrée sur le diagnostic et le suivi écologique des milieux aquatiques et des espèces, tout particulièrement en relation avec les perturbations locales ou globales liées aux activités humaines.

Les principaux thèmes de recherche développés concernent:

  • la caractérisation et la mesure du bon état écologique des écosystèmes (ex. : les écosystèmes aquatiques en accord avec la directive européenne sur l'eau),
  • l'impact des changements globaux et notamment du réchauffement climatiques sur les écosystèmes et les espèces (ex. : dynamique spatio-temporelle des espèces, biodiversité des écosystèmes des Alpes),
  • la biologie et l'écologie d'espèces menacées en vue de la mise sur pied de programmes de conservation,
  • la conciliation entre la conservation de la biodiversité et les activités agricoles (ex. : production piscicole dans les étangs et conservation de la biodiversité aquatique),
  • le développement de nouveaux outils pour un meilleur diagnostic des milieux (ex. : méthodes d'évaluation de la biodiversité; outils électroniques pour la détermination de macroinvertébrés).
