422 Pantry Referral

422 Community Hub

The 422 Community Pantry is a new project that helps to alleviate the immediate needs of food poverty for residents in Ardwick and Longsight eligible to receive Universal Credit, or in desperate need (living below the poverty line and experiencing food poverty).

The Pantry offers people dignity of choice when experiencing economic hardship. By joining as a member for (a voluntary contribution) of £1 a week, people can choose 10 items of food and essentials. A referral lasts for 3 months, where it will then be reviewed by our team, and we may get back in touch with you.

A referral can can be made from a GP, school, or support service working with a family or individual who have seen evidence of need. We are unable to take self-referrals.

From the 422 Hub we can not only provide people with food and essentials, but invite them into community activities where they are welcome, and also where we can signpost to other services and offer support to maximise the income they do have, or are entitled to access.
