Tammy L. Seale is a Principal at PlaceWorks where she directs the firm's Climate Action and Resiliency Practice. She is a leader in the field of local climate action and resiliency planning with over 25 years of environmental and land use planning experience. She collaborates with her clients to address sustainability and resiliency comprehensively in local environmental and land use plans, including comprehensive plans, climate action plans, hazard mitigation plans, and zoning codes. She leads planning processes that are informed by robust technical analysis, such as climate change vulnerability assessments and GHG emissions inventories, and meaningful engagement of stakeholders to develop effective and locally appropriate and effective climate mitigation and adaptation strategies. Ms. Seale is a co-author, with Michael R. Boswell II, PhD, AICP and Adrienne I. Greve, PhD, of Climate Action Planning: A Guide to Creating Low-Carbon, Resilient Communities (Island Press, 2019), a guidebook focused on providing resources, best practices, and tools for practitioners and community stakeholders to address climate change mitigation and adaptation in the local planning process.

Adrienne I. Greve is a Professor in City & Regional Planning at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo. She has a Ph.D. in Urban Design and Planning from the University of Washington, a masters degree in Bioresource Engineering from Colorado State, and a B.S. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Cornell. Her areas of research include planning for climate change, urban streams, and urban ecology.
Dr. Greve is co-author of the book Climate Action Planning: A Guide to Creating Low-Carbon, Resilient Communities published by Island Press (2019). She served as project manager for development of the California Climate Adaptation Policy Guide (2012) and is on team working on its update. She lead the climate change components of the 2018 California Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. Dr. Greve has also been awarded contracts to develop climate action plans (CAPs) as part of a two-quarter studio sequence: Benicia, CA; San Luis Obispo, CA; and Cal Poly. She has worked and conducted research domestically, as well as in Japan (Tohoku Coast) and sub-Saharan Africa. She is currently working on the resilience modeling as part of a Climate-Smart Capital Investment Planning effort in Ethiopia and Turkey and participating in an effort investigating how climate planning has changed through time in US cities.
