Feeling overwhelmed by the idea of securing an industrial placement? Eager to land an engineering internship that will elevate your industry knowledge? Look no further! Hercules Cambridge is thrilled to present our very own careers talk, taking place online at 14:00 on 17th Feb, with the possibility of an in-person session if you all show keen interests (location TBD)!

Our alumni come from a variety of backgrounds. Alex just completed her internship and received a return offer from Tesla; Nancy had a trick up her sleeve when it comes to tailoring CVs and got her job offer in games; Finn…well let’s just say his researches and projects on materials, manufacturing, and innovative products ultimately landed him a job at Springboard…the list goes on!

On that day, you will hear the HC alumnus share their practical pro tips that aided them in securing internships and even full time positions, and perhaps discover radical or creative career paths that you never thought of before. You might also find it helpful to chat with speakers and some of our committee members who had abundant experiences while working at renowned firms like Apple, General Electric, Dyson and strategy consulting firms.

We're excited to announce our second client project of the year in partnership with Bluemethane. Bluemethane is a technology company developing a breakthrough data platform and hardware solution to sense and capture methane emissions from water. The Hercules teams will be collaborating with Bluemethane on creating a sensor that measures dissolved methane concentrations in water, and developing a software platform for monitoring the readings remotely. We are currently recruiting potential student members for the project, and strong applicants may also have the opportunity to join our "HC Prospectiers", a fast-track to become future Skill Leads or project members. In terms of commitment, the project runs for 10 weeks at roughly 10 hours/week/student (could be done alongside internship commitments), starting mid-July. Students will be paid for their hours. Key tasks: CAD, assembly, experimentation; embedded systems, internet protocols; some market research. Are you interested in gaining experience in business acquisition, growing a design and technical consultancy, or putting your management/ business expertise into real practice? Look no further than Hercules Cambridge, a student-led consultancy focused on high-level product design and innovative solutions (https://lnkd.in/grW_zXKH). We're looking for individuals to contribute to our business acquisition (BA) wing of the committee, a very interdisciplinary team ranging from 1st Year undergraduates to PhDs in participation. As a BA officer, you will be responsible for securing commercially viable projects for our highly technical STEM teams. There will be opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaborations, sourcing, and supporting sustainability projects as HC pivots towards impact-led projects for 2023-2024. The application process is fast-tracked, and we have no strict requirements for prior knowledge or experience. The selection process does not involve any interview, but instead, a probationary period of 4 weeks will be given to all shortlisted candidates. During this period, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Hercules, the BA team, and effective client engagement, while proactively demonstrating your potential and dedication.
