How to qualify

Continuing with the success of the FIBA Competition System implemented for the 2019 World Cup, the qualification process for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 will include six windows over 15 months across the four regions of Africa, Americas, Asia/Oceania and Europe.

Here's the journey that awaits the 32 European teams looking to compete at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023

The European teams will qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 through six tournament windows over 15 months. The Qualifiers run from November 2021 to February 2023, with national sides playing home and away games across each of these event windows. This format ensures there's regular and competitive European national team games for players to play and for fans from all around the world to experience.

There are 32 European national teams in the qualification windows looking to earn one of the 12 spots to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. 

1st Window: November 22 - 30, 2021
2nd Window: February 21 - March 1, 2022
3rd Window: June 27 - July 5, 2022
4th Window: August 22 - 30, 2022
5th Window: November 7 - 15, 2022
6th Window: February 20 - 28, 2023
