Collaborating locally

We serve the needs of our local communities through research, teaching and service to society

King’s is committed to strengthening our local connections and developing partnerships with our home boroughs.

We worked with our home boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster to identify four areas where local need aligns with King’s expertise:

  • Education & attainment: ensuring everyone can aim high and reach their full potential
  • Business & enterprise: supporting the development of thriving local economies while creating opportunities for all
  • Community resilience: strengthening communities and helping them develop solutions to the problems they face
  • Health & wellbeing: improving the health and wellbeing of our communities through local partnership.

In collaboration with local authorities, organisations and community leaders in our home boroughs, we seek to develop joint approaches to these shared challenges.

King’s Civic Charter sets out our commitment to London, while bespoke statements of intent with each local borough identify areas for partnership working, informed by their ambitions and King’s strengths.
