Throwback to an eventful month in the entertainment sector in the UAE Last month our Trade Deputy, Nele Delforche, embarked on an exciting journey through the entertainment sector in the UAE. She started with the Menalac CEO Conclave in Dubai: a very insightful conference with a broad spectrum of trendy topics relevant in the sector and animated by a very diverse crowd of well experienced speakers. The conference also provided her with the perfect occasion to meet and network with many local and international players in the wide entertainment sector. A huge thank you to MENALAC (Middle East,North Africa Leisure & Attraction Council) for giving her this opportunity to dive into the world of entertainment. From March 5-7,  she visited Deal Expo. This event brought all stakeholders in the family entertainment centres, theme park and amusement industries together. She engaged with local and international stakeholders and players, including several Flemish companies showcasing their expertise in the entertainment world; The Park Playground introduced its VR entertainment application, and Wavesurfer displayed its fully customizable surf rides and wave machines. Furthermore, she met with KCC Entertainment Design, a globally renowned designer and realiser of unique entertainment projects with references in the UAE and KSA. Later that month it was revealed that True Gamers is planning to develop the world ‘s first eSports island in Abu Dhabi. True Gamers proposes to create a global hub for the gaming industry, with a high-tech venue for hosting top-tier gaming tournaments, professional training facilities for top eSports teams, and dedicated content creation spaces for influencers and game developers. Why Abu Dhabi? This decision is based on its analytical forecast of eSports development in the UAE over the next five years, which is anticipated to be the highest internationally.
