Biography

2017 Outdoor: Finished a season-best fourth place at the Missouri S&T Dewey All good Invitational with a distance of 175’7” in the javelin throw … went on to compete in the MIAA Outdoor Championships and set his personal best in the event after reaching 200’10” for a seventh place standing … recorded a fifth place mark during the Emporia State Relays to begin the season (185’4”). 

Prior to Southern – Garret lettered 2 years in track and field at Blue Valley HS in Stilwell KS, placing second at the state track meet in javelin with a throw of 172’11”. He also played baseball at Blue Valley.
Personal – Undecided on a major at Southern. Son of David Austin and Martha Locke.
