Transforming people & places through skateboarding.

Skate Nottingham is a non-profit place-making, sports development and alternative education organisation rooted in Nottingham’s globally significant skateboarding community. We use skateboarding as a tool to unlock learning and creativity, with an aim to raise the profile of skateboarding as a positive, healthy and creative activity that contributes to Nottingham's social, cultural and economic development.

Free skateboard coaching every Saturday

10:30 - 12:00 at Tram Line Spot

Our free weekly skateboard coaching sessions are back! Join us every Saturday at TLS to get more confident on a skateboard with our team of qualified coaches.

Anyone is welcome aged 7+, beginner or intermediate, and boards & helmets are available to borrow. Those aged 7-15 will also learn life skills through the Concrete Jungle Foundation Edu-Skate programme we deliver as part of the skate coaching.

These sessions are kindly funded by a new National Lottery Awards For All grant, and replace our previous sessions held at Brendon Lawrence Sports Centre.

We’re stoked to release a limited number of tees, one black, one white - both featuring a different screenprinted photographic print, with handwritten details and Skate Nottingham logos.

Available for just £22 each, while stocks last! All profits help support our work for Nottingham skateboarding.

We did it!

Together, we raised £12,169 from 202 individual donors, to help bring a new, modern concrete facility to Stapleford!

Using this £12,169 as match-funding, Skate Nottingham can now assist Broxtowe Borough Council in applying for large capital grant funds of up to £100,000, to attain the total funds needed for a modern, professional skatepark built by one of the leading skatepark companies. ⁣

Following assessment and various considerations, the two favoured sites for a new skatepark in Stapleford are now either Central Avenue or Archers Field. The final location will be considered by Councillors and Broxtowe Borough Council parks & planning officers for confirmation in early 2024.⁣

Happy 1st birthday, Tram Line Spot!

December 17th marked the first year since Tram Line Spot was built! As well as hosting a jam last Sunday to bring the community together, here's a very brief look back at some moments from our first year of TLS.

A city centre space is not without its challenges, but with communities behind it, TLS can be one of the most positive, active, safe & friendly spots for people of all ages & skillsets in Nottingham.

Much-needed grant funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, and partnerships with local businesses such as Supereight & Forty Two Shop, have been key in helping Skate Nottingham & friends activate this part of Sussex Street with skate jams, creative workshops, and skill-sharing opportunities. This is how a city can be transformed - we hope for more backing to do this throughout 2024!
