Take 5 safe spaces

TAKE 5 is an initiative that provides safe spaces, somewhere quiet, away from the crowds in venues across the district.

If you are feeling anxious when out and about, you can visit a TAKE 5 venue and gather your thoughts in a safe, friendly space. You will be welcomed by TAKE 5 Champion who will offer support.

All Council-run libraries, museums, leisure centres and cafés are all TAKE 5 champions. Visitors can identify TAKE 5 venues by window stickers and staff badges. Many community police officers are signed up to the initiative, and residents and visitors can identify them by their TAKE 5 lanyard.

In addition, there are TAKE 5 ‘champions’ who can help while people are out in the district which include Wakefield BID’s Street Angels, PCSO's and Wakefield Council’s Community Ambassadors.

Here is a list of locations that are taking part in the initiative.
