Authors from participating Finnish institutions which are affiliated with FinELib can request use of funds to pay their Open Access charge when arranging payment in OUP’s online licensing and payment system.

How do I know if I am eligible?

To be eligible to publish Open Access and use funding from the Finnish Institutions (FinELib affiliated) you must:

  • be the corresponding author of the article
  • be affiliated with one of the Finnish institutions listed above. You must indicate this as your primary affiliation when submitting the article in order to be recognized as eligible.
  • be publishing in an eligible hybrid journal listed here
    • Eligible authors publishing in participating fully OA journals will receive a discount on their APC.
  • be publishing a peer-reviewed primary research article
  • If you are publishing your article in a Supplement, then you are not eligible to use Read and Publish funds to cover the open access charge.

Your institution will verify your eligibility before paying your Open Access charge.
