MAJOR EARTHQUAKE SHOCKS TURKIYE & SYRIA

Thousands have been killed, injured or missing after a huge earthquake struck Türkiye's southeastern border with Syria. Rescuers are racing to save people trapped in the rubble following the collapse of buildings in both countries.

Hani Habbal, our Head of Programmes in Northwest Syria, appeared on Sky News to discuss our ongoing response to the earthquake emergency. 

As of 8/2/23, we've provided:

 

Emergency shelter to 200 families. 

Hot meals to 200 families.

Emergency kits to 400 families.

'Ready to Eat' meal packs to 400 families. 

10,000 litres of fuel to 5 health clinics for electricity.
