Description

The newest release of the Parkedin™ app makes it easier than ever to pay for and reserve parking. Now available at select gated and non-gated parking lots across Canada, Parkedin™ lets you set up your profile and pay using your credit card.

Not only can you pay for and reserve your parking, but the Parkedin™ app will also notify you 5 minutes before your parking time expires and let you add time if required. It will also notify you of upcoming reservations and let you extend reservations.

The Parkedin™ app also makes it easy to find nearby parking lots that offer Parkedin™. The parking lot locator lets you search for parking by current location (GPS), address and location ZONE ID.

To pay for parking at non-gated parking lots, look for the Parkedin™ location ZONE ID posted on parking signs or parking meters throughout the parking lot. Enter the ZONE ID to initiate and pay for parking.

To pay for parking at gated parking lots, scan the QR code on the ticket you obtained upon entry and follow the payment prompts. Insert the ticket at the exit gate terminal for an automatic exit.

Parkedin™ can also be used to activate a new HPASS, add usages and add up to 5 cards to an existing HPASS account. Available at select healthcare institutions across Canada.

The following features are available in the most up-to-date version of the Parkedin™ app:

· Pay for parking at gated and non-gated parking lots that offer Parkedin™

· Pay using your credit card, Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit

· Receive a reminder via email 5 minutes before your parking session expires

· Receive a reminder via email 10 minutes before a parking reservation

· Extend your current parking session and/or parking reservation using your mobile phone

Poorly designed and Useless

If I could rate this negative stars, I would. This app is a waste of time, and I suspect designed deliberately so to pad the company's bottom line.

3 days ago I parked in a lot managed by ParkLink; I paid for parking at the machine, and took my reciept with me in the event I would need to renew my parking. As I got closer to the expiry on my ticket, I tried to download the app so I could add time to my parking. Because I don't typically use or see lots managed by this company, I did not want to create a new profile and it would not let me use Apple SSO. So I proceeded with the Guest option. The second poor user experience design was trying to put in the lot number, which I had assumed would be listed on my reciept. When I entered the lot number from my reciept, it pulled up the name of a completely different location, that did not match the ticket, and none of the other numbers on the slip worked as a lot number. It did not give me the option of checking a map of my current location, nor did it give me the option of showing where this lot was on a map to verify that it was the same lot I was parked in. Not wanting to get a ticket, but not being close enough to get to my vehicle before the time expired, I proceeded as if the lot was correct. The next screen was the time/date field. I was set to the next day, at some time in the morning, and I was not allowed to change the time or the date. I was only allowed to add duration to it. At this point, I'd been trying to pay for parking for about 15 minutes, and my parking at expired and I was too far away from my vehicle to make it back in time to prevent a ticket.

It should not have been like that. The app should have been able to utilize the phone's GPS to show the surrounding area, or if not that, then a list of the lots in the city with the addresses next to them. The fact that it did not, and does not, and is so poorly laid out on both the ticket and in the design of the user experience really does incline me to believe this is designed deliberately to scam unsuspecting folks out of money. I will not be using this app again, and I will be actively avoiding ParkLink lots, and recommending to others that they avoid them as well.

Terrible app

My city recently switched to this parking app and it’s awful. It does not know your location, forcing you to go find your “parking zone” at the parking meter. The app also constantly shows that I have a notification, despite there being no such notification when I open the app. This app is definitely a downgrade from the previous app that the city used.
