Inconvenience Charge

The app is fine but the company add on a nasty charge of 20p when paying for your parking using the app. This is very frustrating when the reason you are having to use the app is because the machine at the car park is not working properly for card payment. It’s feels insulting that having experienced the inconvenience of having to download the app and go through the process to then have to pay something called a convenience charge - for the inconvenience of it all.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your review. The convenience fee is dictated by the parking operator, and not set by MiPermit (the app Parking Operations use).

An improvement over the last version

I quite like the new version of this app. I’ve not had any issues with paying to park using it, just a shame more car parks in the area don’t use it as well. There’s a few little niggles but according to replies to reviews on the parent app it looks like they have them in hand for a new release.

Excess Charges

I find these days I don’t have cash so ended up using the app, straight forward to use BUT 20p to use the app??? If I use cash a person has to drive and empty the machine = extra cost. Use the app NO person, NO driving, NO handling cash. So why does it cost more? Just another rip off to get extra cash, 20p x all the users = a nice little earner for no extra expense. The answer of it’s not the app that charges it’s the car park is not acceptable.
I recommend you get a bag of change and save yourself a few pence.

Developer Response ,

Hi There, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. The convenience fee is a cost added by the parking operator, this is usually the location owner or local council.
Thanks, MiPermit Team.
