Opportunities

From front of house to behind the scenes to artists opportunities, we offer a wide range of roles for all.

Next Gen. Creatives: Writing and Spoken Word Project

Next Gen. Creatives invites young people 16 to 25 year olds, to become the next generation of artists, curators, performers and creative professionals. This Spring and Summer, they are offering an amazing opportunity to work with artist John Berkavitch on a 6-week writing and spoken word project.

John Berkavitch is one of the most respected voices in the UK spoken-word scene. He is a former UK Slam Poetry Champion, Internationally acclaimed Storyteller, breakdancer, digital artist and animator.

This project has the potential to respond to Attenborough Arts Centre’s next major exhibition which will showcase the work of Jenny Holzer this Summer.

This could be in the form of a sharing of some sort which may be in the form of a sound recording, a projection, a short film, a live performance or a printed collection of works, depending on what direction the group want to take it in.

The workshops will run on Tuesdays 5:30pm – 7:30pm on:

  • April 30
  • May 7
  • May 14
  • May 21
  • May 28
  • June 4

If you are between 16 and 25 and already registered with Next Gen. Creatives, you can book on to these workshops, by emailing pasha.kincaid@leicester.ac.uk – please reserve your space as soon as possible.

If you are not registered with Next Gen. Creatives you can still enrol, just email pasha.kincaid@leicester.ac.uk for our registration forms and to reserve your spaces.

Volunteering

We are looking for Gallery Assistant Volunteers for our next exhibition!

Volunteers are important members of Attenborough Arts Centre front of house team. They are people who share a love of the arts, giving their time to contribute to the continued success of the centre

As a Volunteer, you will be part of an organisation with decades of experience in providing performances, courses, workshops and activities for children and families.

You would be a public face for Attenborough Arts Centre, providing support and assistance within our gallery spaces. Ensuring our customers and visitors have a positive and enjoyable experience during their visit and aiding in their desire to return.

Contact Noreen Gallagher (Volunteer Coordinator) at aacvolunteer@leicester.ac.uk with a short paragraph explaining your interest in the Gallery Assistant role at Attenborough Arts Centre.
