Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute is situated near Stellenbosch in the Western Cape and has a very proud history.  Elsenburg, as commonly known, was established in 1898 and offers a B.Agric degree in collaboration with Stellenbosch University, a Diploma in Agriculture and a Learnership Programme.  Various short courses are offered which differ from two to ten days. The following subject fields form part of the curriculum of the B.Agric degree offered: Animal Production, Plant Production, Animal and Plant Production, Cellar Technology- and Management, Extension and Plant Production and Extension and Animal Production.  Subjects fields to choose from for the Diploma are: Animal Production, Plant Production, Animal and Plant Production, Cellar Technology.  The Learnership Programme offers either Plant Production or Animal Production.

When do applications open?

Applications open on 1 April.

Applications for the diploma programme, equine studies, and learnerships close on 30 June.
Applications for the BAgric degree programme close 31st of July.

What is the estimated cost per year?

Depending on which course and modules you take, the annual cost is between R70 000 and R76 000 per year.

Do you have hostel accommodation?

Yes, we have accommodation for 305 students on campus. We have approximately 555 enrolled students on campus.
