I met Keegan when I was on the beach in Florida.
He literally crashed into my world.
I wasn’t looking for romance, but his two-dimpled charm made my heart go haywire.

We both had one thing in common: we were here to escape our realities.
One week. Just the two of us. Not a care in the world.
I didn’t know it at the time, but that week would forever change my life.

Four years later, and as fate would have it, Keegan and I are brought together again.
It’s as if the universe is telling us this is our second chance.
The more I get to know him, the harder I fall.
Falling hopelessly in love is inevitable with a man like him.

Only the joke’s on me, because the guy I’m falling for isn’t the man I thought he was.

This is my first read by Miss Ash. From the blurb I was expecting drama/angst/ sad story. What I found is surprising. Fool Me Once is feel good romance. Not clean romance.

This is a type of story where 1 sentence promising drama then next sentence solved it quickly without drama. There are a lot of wooing with body massage and hot tub. The characters do not evolved.
The tension between Branden and Keegan is sometimes really stupid.

The last twist at the end caught me by surprise.

I do not hate it nor love it.The writing is easy to follow. If I want another feel good romance, I wil pick it up another book by this author.

⭐️ 4.5 "Jailbird" Stars ⭐️
When I first read the synopsis of Fool Me Once, I was already sold on this story. The fact it was implied that it was a secret baby romance made me even more excited as I enjoy those kind of stories. Nikki Ash had me completely captivated and swooning over this adorable, yet sexy and suspenseful novel!

Blakely and Keegan meet on a beach during spring break in Florida. They share a palpable connection right away and few moments of passion, before separating to get back to their respective lives. When they meet by chance a few years later, so much have changed but at the same time so little. Their chemistry is still so apparent and Keegan is determined to get her back for good! But now, he’s also a father to a cute little boy. Zane is such a sweet and precious boy. I loved his relationship developing so easily with his daddy. It filled my heart with happiness!

Keegan is a truly appealing hero with a little cockiness and a heart of gold. He’s so flirty with Blakely and determined to show her that she’s the one. He had me literally squealing in awe over his romantic side and devotion. At the same time though, he seems to have secrets that make him even more intriguing. Blakely had a few obstacles in her young life, but she’s courageous and driven to follow her dreams. I absolutely loved her relationship with her sister. They’re so supporting of each other, taking care of Zane together before Keegan reappears.

As much as this romance has a high dose of sweetness and gave me butterflies, it also brings its lot of intrigue. I won’t elaborate on that subject, because I won’t want to spoil the surprise but it’s definitely a great twist to the story.

Fool Me Once was so much more than what I expected. I loved every second of my read. The supporting characters bring a deeper feel to this already amazing story! You need to get your copy and meet them too!

Yes, yes, & yes!

This book was everything I needed. The plot wasn’t anything like what I expected, especially with the twist of Keegan’s secret.

This was honestly the cutest book ever. Super worth it. It wasn’t too long, but it also wasn’t short. The HEA was everything. The chemistry and obvious love between Keegan and Blakely was precious.

I simply loved it.

5 stars! Must re-read!!!

3.5 - 4 Stars... I can't decide how I feel.

I'm going to be completely honest... I went into this book blind. The only thing I knew was that it was a secret/surprise baby.
But I was SO CLOSE to DNF-ing this thing. I am not a fan of books that have main characters still in high school. And at the beginning of this book, the heroine was 18 (legal) but still in high school. And eventually I had to pause and put a little bookmark on my kindle page so I could scroll through and see if there was going to be a time lapse soon. Luckily when I did, I found out that I was only a couple chapters away from the time jump so I stuck it out.
And I'm so glad I did! I ended up really enjoying it. So yay!
Nikki Ash is an author I love and get excited to read her books... this is the first one in a while that I've read and I need to pick up the slack!

DNF at 29%

I loved the premise of this one, and I tried to see if I could make it work. Unfortunately, I was never able to connect with the heroine. I ended up skipping a few chapters and trying to read at the 50% mark to see if I liked her better and could start again at 29% knowing that I would like her more.

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me and I am putting this one down as a DNF.

Fool Me Once is a stand alone, secret baby romance, by Nikki Ash, that will have you Cheshire Cat smiling, and your heart all a flutter.
Blakely and her sister, who have had it pretty rough, decide to spend their spring break at a beach resort. While Blakely is relaxing on the beach reading one of her favorite books, a football flies right into her, and her book goes flying into the atlantic. Whoops! But hello Keegan! He sets his sights on Blakely, and she doesn't stand a chance. They end up falling for each other, and by the end of break Keegan finally gets her number, but they were in such a rush as both of them were leaving, Blakely wasn't able to get his number. Well jump four years later, and Keegan never called. But fate steps in, and they run into each other on Blakely's college campus after a little mix up. And oh, Blakely has a little surprise for Keegan.
I always love Nikki's book, and I think Fool Me Once is my new favorite. I've read my ARC several times already. I can't get enough of Blakely, Keegan and little Zane! Zane was such a little scene stealer! He was the cutest little kid.
Fool Me Once was just a fun little read, that will leave you with hearts in your eyes!

I enjoyed the premise of this story. It had the perfect setup for some hella angst. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. I had a lot of problems with it.

Number one, it was super improbable. Also, if he was a police officer, couldn’t Keegan have tracked Blakeley down after he lost her number? Also, why the heck would Keegan allow Benton around his baby mama and son knowing he was being investigated?

The whole story was super implausible. Characters did complete 180’s that didn’t make sense. Sierra got a personality transplant. What was with the instalove between her and Kolton? It made sense that Blakely and Keegan got engaged because they already had a son together and were making up for lost time, but Kolton and Sierra had just started dating! Also, Benton’s actions at the end made little sense. He was a supposed “nice” guy and his snapping didn’t make sense.

OH MY!! I absolutely loved reading this book it was completely fantastic.
This is the first book that I've read by this author and I didn't know what to expect, I'm glad that I've found another great author to read their work. I really liked the story line and thought that it was written awesomely.

Blakely 'B' is the older sister to Sierra 'S'. These two sister's have been through hell. They've been through a terrible tragedy together and after there parents both died, the girls had to be placed in foster care, until Jordan took them both in.Then at the beach one summer B meets Keegan and her life literally changes forever. Blakely knows that he’s fun to hang out with and he's also a great listener a really nice guy to talk to.

Keegan is a very sweet, caring, hot and sexy guy who also can be very loving and very protective especially of the people he loves. Keegan has also been through alot and meeting Blakely seems is what they both needed. Brenton is Blakely's best friend and he has been secretly in love with her for a long time. Only fate steps in throws up a few curve balls ?
(NO SPOILERS ).

This book flicks back from the past and the present to enable us to understand what happens then time passes until they meet again.
I absolutley love these characters and I loved these two together, they have a strong connection and great chemistry between them both, the author really brought them to life. All Keegan wanted to do is protect her even when the secrets get revealed. Can she ever forgive him?
This book has twists and shockers that you won't see coming and I feel that this author kept you guessing right the way through. I just couldn't put this book down, it's a real page turner and a complete must read.

I loved the epilogue and I feel that this always bring that something extra special to the story so we can see where the characters are now.
This book has secrets, lies, love, hope second chances and forgiveness.

I'm glad that I found another great author to read and I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone when it gets released as it's a total must read. This book is one of the easiest five stars I've ever given and is completely well deserved.
I really hope that Sierra and Kolton get their own story next that would be awesome.
I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone when it gets released.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.

This was really good, it had 5 star potential but the entire plot twist was ruined by a misleading tiktok the author made 😂😅

I’m sure had I not watched that then gone into it thinking that’s what it was about and not that she had spoiled the whole plot twist this would’ve been a five star read.

Either way, still love her. All her books are 4 or 5 star reads, never read one I didn’t enjoy.

This story hooked me from the first page. I do love a second chance romance and the chemistry between the characters certainly was electric! The steady build-up of feelings had me immersed in the story with them, willing them on. The swoony lead and the standoffish heroine were just perfect, the writing kept me enthralled the whole way through, I laughed and had a few happy tears. Then, throw in a splash of drama and it was all I could do to put my kindle down and be an adult!

Keegan is a spectacular specimen of man from start to finish and he knows how to treat a woman in and out of the bedroom. He and his family are wonderful people and I feel I know them all personally.

Blakey is so controlled and focused, from teen to adult she is singularly determined to be all that she can be and nothing will stand in her way. Her relationship with her sister, strained to start with, was fantastic to watch grow. I admired Blakely very much.

I would happily recommend you buy this book ASAP! You are in for a treat.

This was my first Nikki Ash novel and I cannot express enough how much I loved it!!

Fool Me Once touched on several tropes which is why I think it touched on so many of my emotions. The story began with a heavy look on the relationship between Blakely and her sister Sierra. The family they now were, the family they lost, and the connection that Blakely was deeply trying to regain with her only remaining family member. There were so many times their relationship reminded me of my daughters and the times they have been close or struggled with their own battles. It broke my heart in pieces reading it and I needed Blakely to find some happy.

When Blakely first meets Keegan it is just meant to be a fling, something to boost her spirits out of the slump she was in and definitely there were to be no feelings involved. At least that is what she kept telling herself. When they parted ways after spring break and she left with a part of Keegan and no way to contact him, her life drastically changed, but perhaps not all changes were a bad thing. How often do we fool ourselves that we aren't invested, but turn out the bigger fool in the end? Been there and done that.

Four years come and go and the most important people in Blakely's life are her sister and the one friend who has always been there for her, Brenton. While she only sees him as a friend, he has other ideas. By luck or fate, when Blakely actually runs back into Keegan and he once again turns her life upside down, Brenton doesn't exactly like the idea of being set aside. Blakely isn't sure how to make everyone happy, but she also knows she needs each person in her life as they are all important to her. This is the ride and the journey that will make your heart race. What will happen? What has happened? GAH!! What I will tell you is that it is like riding a rollercoaster; you will be really glad you got on once the ride is over, but you might scream during the ride.

Fool Me Once is an emotional ride. It's heartwarming at times, shocking at others, and such a journey you won't want to miss it.

This was a quick, fun, smexy read with a nice little twist that I didn’t see coming, but definitely helped bring everything together in an interesting way.

I loved Keegan and Blakely. Blakely is strong, focused and determined. She has a huge heart and gives as good as she gets. Keegan is simply a really good man. Charismatic and protective the man was simply lethal.

Blakely and Keegan’s journey to their second chance HEA was a fun one. I enjoyed experiencing their first collision, but it was their second that kept me turning the pages. I loved how well the flowed and the chemistry between them was undeniable. But what got me the most washow open and honest they were about what they felt for each other and how they handled a very big situation right from the start. Of course not everything can run smoothly and the twist that was tossed into the mix was definitely an interesting one, but I loved how everything worked out for them in the end.

This was a fun read. I really enjoyed how the majority of the issues that arose in this book were handled. As for the characters, all were well written and with an exception or two, I really liked them all and wouldn’t have minded spending a little more time with Sierra and Kolton, but I’m happy with what I got. There are a couple of things that could be triggers for some, but overall this was a fun, sweet and smexy romance with just enough drama to keep things interesting.

Too boring! Really predictable! Very long paragraphs, making reading really irritating!

H has a son of 3 years and yet when he finds about it, he is meh...like yeah okay I have a son. It was a shock but why not, I've a great dick I make awesome babies!

His reaction after meeting his son was so simple so basic! I was clearly expecting more! Anyway, that little boy Zane their son, has hardly two to three lines in the whole damn book!

h was quite irritating! Always crying and running around for sympathy! She's good one moment and the next second I feel like going and smacking her head to a wall.

Also, I don't like this twin books mostly so when H has a twin who looks exactly like him and is dating h's sister, the book was already a no no to me.

Good story.

I really liked the two main characters. They both felt a connection when they met 4 years ago, but he dropped his phone almost immediately after they parted ways. She ended up preggers and worked really hard to go to school. I loved that he knew immediately when he saw her that he wanted another shot, and he knew by looking that the kiddo was his. In real life I get the need for DNA tests, but in books it can be really crass. That being said, the characters weren’t unrealistic and they faced a few struggles. I did see the plot twist coming, but those crumbs were dropped on purposes. I would have loved to see at least a novella about his brother and her sister, but when I looked it up I didn’t see anything.

Ahh! My heart! What a book hangover!! I cannot stop thinking about these characters. I LOVED everything about this book. I devoured every single word from beginning to end. Second chance romance is my top favourite trope in the romance genre so as soon as I read the blurb I knew I would love it and I absolutely did. Blakely and her sister, Sierra had a tough childhood. I loved the friendship and closeness amongst these two sisters. In the beginning Sierra was in a tough place and she completely turns things around to be there for Blakely. Blakely has always been the stronger of the two sisters but when the time comes for Sierra to step up she absolutely did. Blakely is goal oriented and focused. When she stumbles upon Keegan again she is thrown as she never anticipated running into him again. Keegan is a charmer. From the moment they meet on the beach in Florida there was instant attraction and chemistry and the sweet/swoony dialogue between he and Blakely I couldn’t get enough of. When he comes back into Blakely’s life at full speed Keegan is holding some things back and it is tearing him the secrets he has to keep from her. The chemistry between Blakely and Keegan was incredible and explosive. From the first time they meet to when they reconnect again the passion and emotional connection they share is undeniable. Nikki Ash has crafted a beautifully written second chance romance that is a top favourite of 2020. I cannot wait to read more of her books in the future.

I have come to really enjoy Nikki's books and this book did not disappoint!
Blakely and Sierra are sisters who are pretty close until tragedy causes Sierra to withdraw and distance herself. Sierra wants to go on a trip and the only way their guardian will allow it is if Blakely goes. Blakely decides to go in parts she hopes that it will bring her and Sierra closer again. Blakely is left alone on this vacation but she meets Keegan and he helps to pass time. Keegan and Blakely have undeniable chemistry but they also get each other and connect pretty quickly. They know that they have limited time and makes the best of it. Their vacation forever changed their lives! I love the progression of the story, as a reader you were able to see where the story begin and how it progressed. This was an excellent read. There funny moments, sad moments, and then love all around. The supporting characters were a great addition. This is a book you will not want to put down!

Nikki Ash had me completely captivated and swooning over this adorable, yet sexy and suspenseful story! Filled with heartfelt emotion, swoony romance, moments so sweet that I about died (!) of happiness and twists and turns that stunned me. Keegan and Blakely have a story that is utterly captivating!

I was blown away at this amazing tale of second chances with unique twists that left my head spinning. The connection between Blakely and Keegan was instant and the twists and turns that separate these two was heartbreaking but also can so see that happen. I think that is one thing that really drew me into this story. I loved every moment reading this story.

Fool Me Once was yet another fantastic read by Nikki Ash. Relationships, second chances at love and unexpected plot twists are just a few of the things you’ll find between the pages of this wonderful story. I couldn’t put it down and I definitely recommend reading it.

Filled with heartfelt emotion, the swooniest of romance, moments so sweet you’ll cry from happiness and twists and turns that having you gasping.
Keegan and Blakely have a story that is utterly captivating! Blakely especially stole my heart in this one. She’s been through so much and just keeps dusting herself off and getting back up. Fiercely strong but so caring when it comes to those she loves I truly felt for her in all she went through. It was so easy to adore her and when you add Keegan into the mix with his sweet strength 😍😍😍😍 I was addicted to these two. Their story is one you won’t be able to put down!

I just finished this book a few minutes ago, and I am just so blown away!!! Everything about it was simply amazing!

During spring break of high school, estranged sisters Blakley and Sierra go on a trip that will change both of their lives forever. After losing both of their parents in an accident that should have never happened, they are currently in foster care, and by the grace of God they were able to stick together. Even though they haven't been close to one another since the accident, they are still the only family they have left.

When they go to the beach for spring breaks, Blakley meets Keegan, a gorgeous, dimpled hunk who she could easily see herself fall for if she was in a different place in her life. She is set to go to college in a few months and won't let anything get in the way of making something of herself. But when their surprisingly emotional fling brings the surprise of a lifetime, but it also brings the sisters back together in a way that is truly beautiful. I loved how Blakley and Sierra were each other's rock, and how Sierra really stepped up compared to how she acted in the beginning of the book.. I was just so overjoyed that this brought them even closer.

Four years have passed since Blakely and Keegan last saw each other, until one morning fate decides to bring them back together. When the truth is revealed about what happened during the aftermath of their fling, they embark on such a beautiful relationship. I truly adored how it felt like no time passed at all between them; they were just meant to be together and that was so very obvious.

There are some twists and turns, and definitely some intrigue towards the end, and I was torn between wanting to savor this amazing story or read it as fast as I could. I loved every single character in this book and I hope I will see more of them in this authors future work!!

I cannot recommend this book enough! Make sure you one click when this becomes available! :)

Readers will jump for absolute joy when they get their hands on Nikki Ash’s new release Fool Me Once. Set in the sunny sands of Florida, Ash brings together Blakely and Keegan during a week long spring break that changes the course of their lives forever.

Now, as a huge fan of Ash’s I’d say this is sounding vaguely similar right? Ash’s debut novel, Fighting for a Second Chance from her successful Fighting series is set up very similarly. Guy and girl meet have a one time fling, unexpected pregnancy and years later end up finding each other again. I was a huge fan of the first novel's premise, so again this was a win for me.

Although there are similarities as all books have within a trope, I will say there were enough differences to make this book successful. Blakely and Sierra are two sisters that share a deeply complex shared past after the death of their parents and later their grandmother. The only family they have is each other until fate reunites Blakely with Keegan. Keegan and his family help heal the wounds for both sisters making this story so much more than your average run of the mill romance.

Ash also brings the heat. While there is a lot of deep, emotional moment, Ash still didn’t forget to bring the heated lust driven sex scenes she’s famous for in her novels. Each scene was driven, focused on bringing the characters closer together while also providing that sought after sexual tension all romance readers want.

Which leads me to another thing I look for in a romance novel… Conflict. And boy, does Ash bring this one in spades. Can someone say PLOT TWIST. Boy, Ash pulled one over on this old girl’s eyes because I totally didn’t see that one coming AT ALL. Without spoiling it for you I will say not only did Ash get me once with her revelations, but twice all that the end of this novel.

Fool Me Once was yet another incredible novel by Ash. Relationships, second chances at love and unexpected plot twists are just a few of the wonderful things you’ll find between this book’s pages. From one romance lover to another, don’t hesitate to snatch this one up.
