Omg so loving this series!!! This is the second book I've read out of order mind you. This one is centred around Savannah and Liam, and Savannah's deranged ex who's out for revenge. Great story and love the comraderie and different characters in the story. Each book is very different and better than the last. Emma Renshaw is a true story teller and her books are just brilliant!

Dramatic and suspenseful with a survivor of unimaginable horror

Told from dual POV, Vow of Retribution is suspenseful and dramatic tale. Savannah has lived through a horrific traumatic experience and shown amazing strength and determination in what is a reletively short amount of time - my heart did go out to her for what she lived though. The attraction is instant between Savannah and Liam as they navigate their way towards each other whilst continuing to overcome their pasts. The climax was in parts expected but also a bit darker than I had anticipated, with actions that seemed to come out of nowhere - this took me from a realistic story into the surreal.

I started this book expecting to love it but unfortunately it didn't quite get there for me. I can't put my finger on why but I didn't totally connect with Liam and Savannah and wasn't submerged in their universe, living through them. Which then meant the emotional moments didn't totally grip me and break me heart like I expected them to do. That being said it was still an enjoyable read just rather a 4 star and not a 5 star. I could appreciate what was happening, I just didn't feel it.

Story starts out as savannah sees Liam at the gym she works out in. Read as a dual point of view, their characters kept on running into each other all the while their chemistry is mutual. I applaud author for superb story telling, great character development and interesting story premise. On the other hand, character names are a bit millennial for my liking - savannah, valarie, Hudson. And I’m sure savannah is educated and smart - one would think she’ll go straight to the authorities once she finds out that her ex was out of prison and put a restaining order on him, rather than being cooped up at Liam’s.

Author’s style of writing has potential for other genres such as suspense thrillers and space opera.

I look forward to reading hudson’s story, if there was one.

What a page turner.
Liam and Savannah were brilliant characters.
Savannah was trying to get over being majorly abused by her ex boyfriend. She thought he was in jail but finds out he has been out for months, watching her.
Liam is super sexy and tries his hardest to protect her.
This was a brilliant story, which had me on the edge of my seat many times.
I volunteered for a arc of this book.

Vow of retribution was an easy and intense story, one that I enjoyed for the ease and familiarity of the story, it felt safe and at the time I read it I needed something I could just read without it being too involved so Vow of Retribution was perfect for that.
Characters were ok but nothing really grabbed me about them or wowed me enough to go omg these guys are in my top character list but they were not the worst either.
The plot was a bit tired at times but again not enough to make me stop reading even though it felt repetitive at times and wasn't descriptive enough for me either but considering this is a debut story for the author it wasn't bad at all.

Wow! This book has everything! I’m not sure when I read something that kept me so captivated and involved as this one did.

Savannah’s past is always present in her everyday life. Dating is difficult but when Liam persists, she gives in to her own desire to know him better. Unfortunately, that same past that has held her in its grip also keeps her from seeking more intimacy.

While Liam has his own secrets, he realizes that whatever is holding Savannah back carries more weight. Despite their moving forward at a pace that she can accept, he struggles with the knowledge that she refuses to share her history with him.

Both Liam and Savannah were so well developed that I felt as though I knew them personally. Savannah had survived the fire of her past but was determined to never leave herself vulnerable again. She was strong, fierce and independent. And so very set on her own vow of retribution for her past. Liam was laid back and all around family guy with great friends. He had made mistakes in his past but had grown stronger due to overcoming them and moving forward.

I absolutely loved watching these two together. There is such a sweet romantic feel to them meeting, getting to know one another and moving forward, even if a bit limitedly, into a physical relationship. I really enjoy being able to watch a couple just be together, and we get plenty of that goodness here.

When things start to heat up for this couple, it really heats up. There was so much tension, drama and action that I was literally shredding my fingernails. Dang! This author knows how to string you out with the action sequences. I loved it!

While this doesn’t have a fast pace, it doesn’t plod along either. Every word is necessary and every character relevant. And holy heck, I can’t wait to read more about these secondary characters. The steam level is definitely high and the chemistry between Liam and Savannah was believable from the very first moment.

This is definitely a read I will be recommending to anyone who enjoys their romance with characters that carry a dark past. One warning, be sure you are able to handle triggers and if so...grab this one immediately!

Emma is a new author to me. After a friend told me to give this book a go because it was ticking all my boxes I said what the hell.

MAN OH MAN!!!!

First of all OMG and second Liam!!

Savannah god she is so freaking strong. What she went through in her past she deserves a break. She moved to another town to start over after an horrific event. After a while she realises she needed to start living her life again and not staying in her house and never going out.

Liam seriously could he be anymore amazing. I damn near swooned all the way through this book because of that guy. So Liam is from Texas but he moved to Chicago. When he was visiting home he's missing being around his family but also something happened in Chicago that he keeps a secret from everyone.

When you find out Savannah's story you'll be going OMG. I had a rough idea but when she tells it I was like holy moly.

Then you get the whole suspense towards the end and let me tell you I was reading it and I was going Sav oh god... Liam get to her NOW!!!

The side characters I really did love.

I really loved James. His book I really can't wait to read. I just know I'll probably swoon then possibly cry over. He must have one hell of a story and I really can't wait to read it.

For my first Emma book it definitely wont be the last xx

I love a well written romance with loads of suspense and danger. I especially love just such an engrossing read that has great characters within an absorbing plot. Such is Vow of Retribution by Emma Renshaw. I am in love with Liam. He is everything that any woman could possibly want. I also admire Savannah's sassy and tenacious stance against life's unfairness. Together, Liam and Savannah light up each page with their explosive chemistry. Even the supporting characters were interesting and lovable with a past waiting to be explored in future books.

I really wanted to give this page-turner five stars, but the excessive vulgarities just kept it from being as enjoyable as it would have been without them. I can skim over explicit sexual content, but it's hard to read around over 250 vulgarities.
