Facilitated by our clinical nurse specialists, our healthcare professional webinars are designed to support your practice and development.

Sessions are free to join and run for an hour. They include expert speakers covering a range of topics on breast cancer, treatments, side effect management and new developments. 

Participation certificates for your NMC revalidation are available following each webinar.

Please note our webinars are only open to healthcare professionals in UK practice. This is because the information we share, produce and        collaborate on is all based on UK clinical practice and guidelines.

Breast Reconstruction Series 

A multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach to breast reconstruction by St Helen’s and Knowsley NHS Trust

23 April 2024, 7pm I Online webinar

This webinar will focus on the support and care provided to a breast reconstruction patient by the MDT. Members of the MDT will share their expertise covering topics such as the pros and cons of implant-based reconstruction, indications, and various options for autologous reconstructions, managing the challenges of waiting times for patients and role of physiotherapy in recovery from breast reconstruction.

Clinical considerations when deciding on reconstruction options

This webinar is presented by Pamela Golton, who is a reconstruction nurse specialist at Queen Victoria NHS Trust, and will be talking about the factors that should be considered when discussing reconstruction options with patients. She will discuss body shape, BMI, past medical history, radiotherapy and general fitness. She will also talk about the nurse’s role in managing expectations and recovery.

Reducing the length of stay for autologous reconstructions

8 May 2024, 7pm I Online webinar

This webinar is presented by plastic surgeon Adam Blackburn from Queen Victoria Hospitals NHS Trust on the subject of autologous reconstructions and how to successfully implement an ERAS protocol to reduce the length of hospital stay for DIEP reconstructions. He will discuss preparing a patient for surgery, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) and reducing complications during the post operative period.
