As part of our series of posts to highlight the Sana Capital Advisory Board, we're delighted to be joined on the Board by Dr David Brown. David Brown is Co-founder and Chair of the Board of Healx, a Cambridge University spinout company which uses Machine Learning to find treatments for children with rare diseases. He was also co-founder of the antibody company Crescendo Biologics Limited and was named in the Maserati 100 UK Innovators/Entrepreneurs list for 2019. Earlier in his career, David pursued medical research in the pharmaceutical industry. While at Pfizer he was named as co-inventor on the patent for Viagra, and for 8 years led the team that developed Viagra through to proof of clinical efficacy in male impotence. Relpax (migraine) and Revatio (Pulmonary) also came from his team. While at Roche in Switzerland, he was Global Head of Drug Discovery and had responsibility for the productivity of over 2000 scientists at Roche's research sites in the US, Europe and Asia. David commented "Biotechnology is the leading science of the 21st century, just as Physics was in the 20th century. The scientific breakthroughs are huge and really important to humanity. The team at Sana is committed to helping entrepreneurs maximise their creativity to bring new medical solutions into use in healthcare." We're absolutely delighted that David has come on board to help and support us on our mission to Heal the World. #team #healthcare #deeptech #medtech #heal
