Lambeth Parents Forum

Do you know parents of Children with SEND in need of support, community and guidance? Or are you a local organisation that would like to build links with these parents and share your Summer plans? Maybe you’re passionate about SEND support in Lambeth?  

Please join us on Wednesday 29 June 2022, 10am to 12 midday.  Coffee Morning with Tom Cunningham, Senior Commissioning Officer, Lambeth Youth and Play, to talk about plans for summer activities for children and young people with SEND.

There are eight categories designed to showcase the amazing work taking place to green up the borough, bring people together and to improve wellbeing.

Join All-Stars for their Summer of Fun Activity Camp, from 25 July to 19 August. An exciting Summer of planned activities including a day trip to the beach, workshops, multi-sports, arts and craft, excursions and much more!

Lambeth Summer of Food and Fun programme

This summer Lambeth Council is running the Summer of Food and Fun programme.

A packed programme of summer activities for those aged 0 to16, from Monday 25 July until Friday 26 August.

There are many activities on offer from sports, art, trips, camps and cooking.  There are fully funded places available for children and young people who normally receive free school meals to have healthy lunches and snacks while participating in activities.

TRAs will be receiving postcards and posters to put up and distribute to tenants week commencing 4 July.


Southbank Centre

Are you a Black or mixed race photographer aged 18-24 living in Lambeth or Southwark? 

Southbank Centre is offering a free week-long photography course set out to lift up young local talent, using the Hayward Gallery’s In the Black Fantastic exhibition as its inspiration, course runs daily from 10.30am to 5pm from 8 ⁠to 14 August 

They are looking for up to 20 talented local emerging photographers aged 18- 24 old who connect to the themes of the exhibition through their personal life experience, to form this Photo Fantastic collection.

Application closes Sunday 3 July at 5pm

Clapham Park Brainery

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing are excited to be working with the Regeneration Brainery, a charity that champions young people to raise their aspirations about careers in the build environment.

Over 5 days young people will get the chance to participate and learn from mentors working in construction, finance, housing, architecture, and other related fields to find out what it’s really like to work in the build environment starts 11 to 15 July.

Surrey Cricket Foundation

Surrey Cricket Foundation, England Cricket Board and Lambeth Council would like to offer your child an opportunity to be a part of a two bespoke cricket programmes this summer.

FREE funded cricket projects are being run around Lambeth during the summer holidays at the following locations below starts July for 4 weeks.

These are aimed at families on Free School Meals or those receiving financial support ideally.

Deronda Estate Jubilee Event

In collaboration with Lavender Hope, the residents of the Deronda Estate came out in force to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee. The show case event was held on Saturday 4 June and included bouncy castle, face painter and fancy dress. The highlight was a friendly tug of war competition, involving different parts of the estate.

Lavender Hope have recently set up base at the community hall on the estate. Some residents took the opportunity to learn more about the range of community activities taking place at the hall as well as getting to meet the new ward Councillors. A really great time was had by everyone, and more importantly the sun shone.     


Millennium Community Solutions Coding programme

The Institute of Imagination, in partnership with Millennium Community Solutions, have seen a fantastic turn out of twenty five local Brixton and Coldharbour children attending their creative coding club "Lambeth Digital Heroes", which is taking place throughout June and July at the newly opened Southwyck Coding and Arts Centre.

With access to cutting edge technology, children are learning computer coding skills, creating 3D worlds using augmented reality and coding futuristic cities with the Micro:bit micro-computer, all in a creative and playful environment. The programme aims to build confidence, aspiration and wellbeing alongside core digital skills and literacy while fostering imagination and creative thinking.

Child Friendly Lambeth

Child Friendly Lambeth

Child Friendly Lambeth wants to know children and young people’s opinions and priorities for Lambeth to influence local decisions and actions!

As part of the Child Friendly Lambeth programme, Lambeth want to know what as many Lambeth children and young people’s (up to the age of 25) priorities are for the borough, their opinions and what’s important to them!

These opinions and feedback will inform our choice of UNICEF UK priority badges for the next few years.

The survey takes about seven minutes to complete and the deadline for completing is Monday 1 August 2022
