They will then move across the road and start laying the paving along Nine Mile Ride towards Nine Mile Ride Dental Practice.
What's been happening so far
Installation of new block paving in the footway has begun this week outside Cresswells Garage and also between Londis Red Oak Store and the California Ratepayers Hall with 90% already complete.
The team have also been laying new kerb stones along Nine Mile Ride between Londis Red Oak Store and Nine Mile Ride Dental Practice. They have also carried out preparations works to level the ground ready to install new block paving.
Local elections taking place next week
Local elections will be taking place on Thursday 2 May with The Ratepayers Hall and Finchampstead Baptist Church (FBC) Centre being the main polling stations near the crossroads.
Additional signage has been erected to help drivers navigate the diversion routes on polling day. The Ratepayers Hall will be accessible to drivers via Finchampstead Road and the FBC Centre will be accessible via Barkham Ride.
Further information about diversion routes during this project can be found on our website and one.network.
Pedestrian access will be maintained to both polling stations at all times.
Road maintenance works
During the summer, as part of our California Crossroads improvement works, we will be carrying out repair works on Finchampstead Road South between the crossroads and Jubilee Road.
Each year, we invest millions of pounds repairing roads across the borough through our annual maintenance programme. Roads are assessed and monitored throughout the year using a range of techniques, which informs the plan for the coming year.
Residents and businesses located on these roads will be contacted directly prior to works beginning with exact dates, and advanced warning signs will be placed in the vicinity of the works to keep residents informed. Further information in regards to the schedule for the structural maintenance programme will be made available on our website.
Avery Corner Car Park
Granules have been laid in Avery Corner Car Park this morning (26 April) due to a hydraulic oil leak from a vehicle. The granules will soak up the oil over the weekend and our street cleansing team will clear the area after the weekend, once the process is complete. The car park will remain open over the weekend.
