Within clinical trials strict imaging criteria, such as RECIST 1.1, are applied for the assessment of response to oncologic therapies. Most of these criteria have been validated on large series of patients across different types of cancer. Conversely, in daily clinical practice reporting strategies are left to the radiologists and oncologists which may issue local and diversified guidelines. More generally applicable rules for the assessment of response in clinical practice is a strong need that the ESOI will actively pursue.
The purpose of this survey is to investigate and compare opinions and preferences regarding the radiology report in oncology, with a special focus on treatment response evaluation in daily practice, in order to gather information useful for the development of adequate and clear reporting models and guidelines.



DEFINITIONS:
Measurable lesion: Any measurable lesion, unless diminutive.
Diminutive lesion: Small lesion, with a diameter below a certain predefined threshold.
Non-measurable lesion: Lesion that can’t be measured (e.g. pleural effusion).
