Dr. Dmitry Epstein

Dmitry Epstein is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication & Journalism and the Federmann School of Public Policy & Governance at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is also an affiliate at the Federmann Cyber Security Research Center - Cyber Law Program. His research focuses on the intersection of information, technology, policy, and society. Specifically, he studies internet and information governance, privacy, cybersecurity and the digital divide.  Dmitry’s work has been supported by funders such as the National Science Foundation, Program on Economics & Privacy at George Mason University Law School, and the Internet Society. He has published in a number of venues such as The Information Society, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of Information Policy, Government Information Quarterly, Social Media + Society, and Wake Forest Law Review. Dmitry is currently serving as the Chair of the Global Internet Governance Academic Network (GigaNet) and he is a co-founder of the Comparative Privacy Research Network (CPRN). Dmitry earned his PhD from Cornell University and prior to joining the Hebrew University, he was on the faculty of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
