About Us

Esoko has been helping enterprises manage rural communities since 2008. Traditionally focused on content services to farmers, the platform now provides powerful data collection & digitization tools, biometric profiling, analytics, as well as communication services. And we have just introduced additional services like digital credit, insurance, payments and transaction services. These services are now delivered in two pathways (1) Data collection and profiling and (2) Service delivery

Connecting People in Agriculture

Esoko began in 2008, providing market prices over SMS to smallholder farmers on development projects. The aim was to see how the emergence of mobile technology in Africa, could improve the lives of rural communities across the continent.

Over time we have developed digital tools and services to help not only farmers, but also to help agribusinesses and development organizations reach rural communities with services and solutions that help improve their livelihoods.

Today, we connect over 1 million farmers to essential services – weather forecasts, agronomic advice, market linkages and insurance coverage over a range of channels including SMS, voice SMS and call centre. Various research finds such services can improve incomes for farmers by roughly 10%.

Measuring Impact through Data

As data collectors we value good quality data. We also know the challenges faced by data collectors on the field – ranging from agent non-performance, to bad data to logistics problems. The list is endless.

With over 12 years’ experience collecting market price data across Ghana, we have built and honed our mobile data collection technology and field deployment capacity.

Our data collection & profiling services has become the backbone of many medium to large-scale social protection programs in Ghana and Liberia – helping agencies implement projects seamlessly, in record-timing and with 100% data accuracy.

In 2018, we launched a mobile-based data collection tool – Insyt – available for individuals and organizations to use to conduct mobile surveys, monitor and measure project progress in real-time across any sector – education, research, business etc.
