Need help with family history?

Find out how Evergreen Ancestry can help with your family or local history research.

Evergreen Ancestry is run by a professional genealogist and family historian specialising in Yorkshire and Lancashire and can help you if you’re stuck with your family history research or are curious about your ancestors.

I am a member of AGRA (Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives) and have an MA in History and a Higher Certificate in Genealogy as well as many years experience of family history research.

How can Evergreen Ancestry help you?

If you have a family history problem or ‘brickwall’, perhaps a baptism that you can’t find or an ancestor who disappears from the records, I can use online records or record offices to try to resolve the brickwall.

If you are not able to visit the archives in person, I can visit record offices all over Yorkshire and Lancashire. I carry out research into any type of record from the 16th to the 20th century. I can also provide transcriptions of older or difficult to read documents.

I can help you get started for those who know little about their family history but would like to find out about their ancestors’ lives and I can provide family histories based on birth, marriage and death certificates, transcriptions of census records, and create a family tree and report giving details of the family over a number of generations.

As a professional genealogist I carry out research for individuals, academics and TV companies. I take time to understand the needs of a client before undertaking research. All research is thorough, well presented and sourced and delivered to a pre-arranged deadline and agreed costs.
