Booking could not be simpler. All you need to begin is your student registration number and size measurements. Size charts for both the gown and mortarboard cap are included for your convenience, and information on how to measure your height and head circumference can be found further on in our FAQ.

You can book your graduation robes after you have registered for your ceremony, from Monday 11th March 2024 at 10AM (BST).

The booking deadline for Winter graduates is Sunday 2nd June 2024 at 23:59PM (BST).

If you do not book your robes in advance, we cannot guarantee their availability.

You should wear smart clothes to your graduation ceremony; jeans and trainers are not acceptable. Robe-makers like ourselves normally recommend clothing that accentuates the traditional gown. Suit jackets help to puff out the shoulders, giving the hood more security. Shirts with visible top buttons are highly recommended as well, as they attach to the hood via a loop, anchoring the hood and preventing it from slipping back. Low-cut tops provide less security for the hood. Again, some form of shirt with a top button is highly recommended. Please also ensure you wear appropriate footwear for walking up and down the stage steps.

For both height and head size you should use a device that cannot be stretched, such as a tape measure. Wrap the tape around the widest part of the head. This is usually just above the eyebrows around to the widest part of the back of the head. Measure this at least 3 times and take the largest number. To measure your height, take off your shoes, socks and any headwear. Stand with your back straight, preferably against a wall, and with your feet together. Either have somebody else mark the highest point of your head on the wall with a pencil, or place a box on your head, hold it there, and mark the wall underneath it with a pencil. Then simply measure from the floor to the pencil mark with a measuring tape.

You can collect your graduation attire from The Terrace Restaurant, (number 2 on the central campus map) situated in Devonshire House next to the Forum Building, at the following times:

9:00am Ceremonies: From 4:00pm-6:00pm the evening before, or from 7:00am on the day of the ceremony

10:00am Ceremonies: From 7:30am on the day of the ceremony

11:45am Ceremonies: From 9:00am on the day of the ceremony

2:00pm Ceremonies: From 12:00pm on the day of the ceremony

3:00pm Ceremonies: From 12:00pm on the day of the ceremony

Collections from Cornwall Campus

You can collect your graduation attire from the Exchange courtyard seminar rooms 5/6/7, on Penryn Campus at the following times:

10:00am Ceremonies: From 4:00pm-6:00pm the evening before, or from 7:30am on the day of the ceremony

1:45pm Ceremonies: From 9:00am on the day of the ceremony

2pm Ceremonies: From 10:00am on the day of the ceremony

3:45pm Ceremonies: From 11:00am on the day of the ceremony

For Exeter Campus

All purchases for graduation ceremonies will be available for collection prior to the ceremonies alongside hire orders in the Terrace Restaurant, Devonshire House in the Forum Building.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to send out your attire in advance of the ceremony date.

For Cornwall Campus

All purchases for graduation ceremonies will be available for collection prior to the ceremonies alongside hire orders in the Exchange courtyard seminar rooms 5/7/9, Penryn Campus.

Yes. Many people prefer to extend their hire, allowing them to take their own pictures with their graduation attire once the ceremony has concluded. This costs an extra £30 and gives the student an extra 7 days with the gown, hood and cap. A prepaid envelope is included, allowing you to send the gown back to us hassle-free.

Yes. You will receive a confirmation email with all your details and useful information about your ceremony. We recommend you print this out and take it with you to your graduation ceremony. If you do not receive this email, make sure to check that you have entered the correct email address, and check your spam folder.

Yes. The first port of call would be to message us using the Live Chat, or email us at service@graduationattire.co.uk with the issue you are facing and contact details. Generally, if you have made a mistake with the size of your gown or cap, you should not worry, we will have plenty of spares available on the day. Anything you have already paid for will require changes to be made manually by one of our customer service team, if this is the case, you can message us on the Live Chat. This would include refunding an order or changing the gown day hire to an extended hire, or even purchase.

When you are signing in online, there is a ‘Request a Password’ button just under the ‘Submit’ button. Click on the ‘Request a Password’ button, enter the email address you normally use to sign in with Graduation Attire, and we will email you a new password which you can use to reset your old one.

To change your password whilst in possession of your old one, just sign-in as usual, then click the ‘My Account’ button at the top of the page and then click on ‘My Password’. This will bring up a screen that will allow you to change your password.
