The project is being conducted by the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) who are contracted to fulfil the obligations of the CEMS Hydrological Forecast Computational Centre (COMP), and the University of Reading. The aims of the project are:
- To investigate the impact of recent developments to the EFAS post-processed forecasts.
- To identify any further future improvements.
- To identify how the user feedback can be more effectively incorporated into the EFAS system.
The EFAS post-processed forecasts have been developed based on the discussions in the dedicated workshop at the 17th EFAS Annual Meeting in September 2022. These changes include:
- the inclusion of provider discharge thresholds,
- a new ‘post-processing’ tab in the reporting point layer, and
- new data tables containing information related to the post-processed forecasts.
The following questions will ask for your opinion on these developments, any further improvements to the post-processed forecasts that you would like to see implemented, and the methods used to collect feedback from EFAS Partners.
This questionnaire is anonymous. Responses to this questionnaire will be analysed and used to improve EFAS in the future and included in a PhD thesis. You do not have to participate in this project if you do not wish. However, your contribution will be beneficial in making this product more useful. If you do decide to take part you will be free to withdraw at any time during the EFAS Annual Meeting without providing a reason, and with no negative consequences. Unfortunately, after the EFAS Annual Meeting it will not be possible to remove your data from the analysis as all data will be anonymised.
