Welcome to Public Health Intelligence Online (PHI/Online) from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). This workspace brings together the public health intelligence community of England to connect with their Local Knowledge and Intelligence Service and the wider public health intelligence (PHI) community, discover the resources open to them, and learn and develop their analytical skills. Use this workspace to find a wide range of public health intelligence resources, receive regular updates, learn about upcoming events, explore training and development opportunities and to discuss and collaborate with the public health intelligence community nationally and regionally.
PHI/Online is aimed at public health professionals and people who use public health intelligence in government organisations, the NHS, academia and the voluntary sector organisations. Please note - you need to be registered on FutureNHS and become a member of the PHI/Online workspace to be able access the different sections of the website.
Fingertips
Fingertips was updated on 8 May 2024. The next planned update is 4 June. Details of this update can be found in the Resources section.
The new Health Trends for England tool has been published based on data within Fingertips. The details can be found in the Updates and events section along with other new items.

What has been added to PHI/Online this week?
- New discussions on the big Fingertips May update, request for volunteers for Fingertips user interviews, 2022 residents population, suicide audit suppression methods and data access
- The latest public health intelligence calendar providing a forward look of public health data and statistics due to be published in the next two weeks is available in the Resources section for 13 May to 26 May.
- The latest updates related to public health intelligence for can be round in the latest fortnightly public health intelligence round up published 16 May
