Join Online

You can join the library if you live, work or study in Hertfordshire. It is free and you can use our full range of services.

It is also free to borrow books. There are charges for some other library services, but concessions are available for certain users.

Join online by filling in your details. While libraries are closed, you may use your membership number and PIN straight away to borrow ebooks and audiobooks on BorrowBox and use other online resources.

When libraries re-open, you will need to visit any Hertfordshire library to collect your card before your registration expires. We will need to see something official with your current name and address, eg a bank statement, driving/TV licence or utility bill. If you are under 16 you will need an adult aged over 18 with you who will agree to be responsible for the items you borrow and any charges. A parent or guardian is best.
