Safeguarding Adults Boards have an absolute duty to conduct a review where an adult with care and support needs has died as a result of abuse and/or neglect, including self-neglect, whether known or suspected, and there is concern that partner agencies could have worked more effectively to protect the person. Learning from these reviews provide the best evidence there is to support voluntary and statutory agencies to improve their practice to reduce risk.
This briefing explores the evidence base related to cases of people who were homeless, and shares the learning and key recommendations for practitioners and managers working in homelessness services.
