About this event

Research insight is a major ingredient of creative, economic and social innovation. Funders are increasingly keen to support academic-industry collaborations to develop new ideas, products and services. But such projects s can be complex, and require a particular set of approaches to work well. There is often learning involved for academic institutions and their industry partners.

Royal Holloway is home to StoryFutures, a £9m+ innovation initiative that brings researchers from arts, humanities, social and natural sciences together with creative businesses to innovate in next generation storytelling. Using technologies such as virtual, augmented and mixed reality, it supports ground-breaking ideas and prototypes with significant creative and commercial potential.

In this session you will hear insights from StoryFutures’ work with industry so far, involving 35+ researchers in 20+ projects, and engaging with over 200 innovative companies in our region and Greater London. You will find out about:

* Academic and Industry perspectives on innovation-led collaboration

* Structuring successful projects: ideas, tools and processes

* Common challenges, and tips for overcoming them.

* How to get involved in StoryFutures.

The event will encourage discussion, with plenty of time for questions.
