Lincoln Medical School is a partnership between the Universities of Nottingham and Lincoln. We will admit our first group of students in September 2019 and they will follow the University of Nottingham’s BMedSci and BMBS curricula.

In conjunction with United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, the University of Lincoln is seeking to appoint from August 2019, two Medical Education Fellows in Anatomy / F3s in General Surgery and Orthopaedics (5 sessions per week of teaching and 5 sessions of clinical work). The clinical element of the role will also provide the opportunity to contribute to the on call rota.

On your university days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning), you will act as demonstrators in anatomy practical classes, assist with clinical skills teaching, and will have the opportunity to carry out teaching in other settings such as lectures, seminars and case-based learning sessions. On your hospital days, the appointees will have duties in general surgery and urology on the F2/CT tier of the emergency rota, and in orthopaedics you will be involved in care of patients on the ward and admission of emergency patients in conjunction with middle grade doctors. In both settings, you will be able to assist in clinics and theatre and contribute to medical student teaching.

These posts would suit doctors who are due to complete Foundation Training in July 2019, but who wish to develop their skills in medical education and surgical specialities before undertaking core training.

Post holders would be employed with the University of Lincoln in a fixed-term 12 month capacity (with an honorary contract provided for clinical sessions provided by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust) with the option to extend for a further 12 months.
