New data shows Leicester still has the highest rate of coronavirus infections in England - but three new hotspots have been identified in worrying data.
The information from Public Health England shows that the number of infections rose week-on-week in data up to July 6 in a whole host of towns and districts.
Leicester, which was put back in lockdown last week, now has 116 cases per 100,000 people.
It remains a long way ahead of Rochdale, the city with the second highest infection rate of 32.7.
Bradford is in third with 31.8 cases per 100,000, although the number has fallen since last week.
A new list shows the rate of new cases in the seven days to July 6, followed by the equivalent figure for the previous seven days to June 29.
New data released earlier today by the Covid Symptom Study, an app which tracks people with Covid-19 symptoms in the UK, suggests 23,042 Brits are currently infected by the virus.
The latest figures in the app show the Midlands has 6,556 predicted symptomatic virus cases in comparison to 2,254 in the North West of England.
Northern Ireland has almost no active cases, but parts of Wales are seeing a high number of symptomatic cases, the data shows.
Scientists at King's College London, who are behind the study, also warn that in the last week, cases have stopped declining.
Epidemiologist Professor Tim Spector from King's College London said: “It is disappointing to see that the number of daily new cases are no longer falling like they have been in previous weeks, this could be a temporary blip or due to the easing of lockdown and the amount of social contact slowly increasing.
"Importantly our updated analysis of the prevalence is still continuing to show that the Midlands and Wales are key areas in the country where the amount of Covid is remaining relatively high.”
