In a follow-up on the dengue fever situation in the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) reports 64,797 dengue cases from January 1 to June 25, 2022.

This is a 90 percent increase compared to the 34,074 cases reported during the same period last year.

Officials say all four dengue serotypes are circulating nationwide.

Regions reporting the most cases include Central Luzon with 9,426 or 15 percent; Central Visayas, 7,741 or 12 percent; and Zamboanga Peninsula, 5,684 or 9 percent.

274 dengue related fatalities have been reported year to date.

Fifteen out of the country’s 17 regions have exceeded the alert or epidemic threshold from May 29 to June 25, 2022.

These include Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the National Capital Region.
