Overview
The use of digital technology as part of the response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) highlights its potential to accelerate the achievement of health in the Sustainable Development Goals and its risks and limitations. Legal frameworks are essential to harnessing digital technologies, minimizing their risks, and ensuring benefits are shared. This document suggests actions for WHO and Member States to work together to build sustainable legal and regulatory infrastructure to support the use of digital technology for health during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
