Two people have been killed after heavy rain lashed parts of southern Nevada, including Las Vegas from late August 11, 2022.

On August 11, the weather station at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) registered 0.58 inches (15 mm) of rain, bringing the total for the monsoon season this far to 32.5 mm (1.28 inches).

“That makes this the wettest monsoon in ten years! And we’ve still got a month and a half left to add to our total,” the National Weather Service in Las Vegas said.

At least two people have been killed as flash flooding swept through the city, flooding the iconic Las Vegas strip, casino buildings and parking lots.
