World Environment Day

World Environment Day (5th June), set forth by the United Nations, is a celebration of the incredible life we have on this planet. It highlights that among the billions of planets that we've discovered in our universe, there is only one Earth.
We are completely reliant on this unique rock, so lets work with it and not against.

Explore the new activities on the platform in honour of World Environment Day.

Diwrnod Amgylchedd y Byd

Mae Diwrnod Amgylchedd y Byd (5 Mehefin), dan arweiniad y Cenhedloedd Unedig, yn dathlu’r bywyd anhygoel sydd i’w gael ar y blaned. Ymhlith y biliynau o blanedau a ddarganfuwyd gennym yn ein bydysawd, mae Diwrnod Amgylchedd y Byd yn tynnu sylw at y ffaith mai un Ddaear yn unig sydd i’w chael.
Rydym yn dibynnu’n llwyr ar y graig unigryw hon, felly beth am weithio gyda hi yn hytrach nag yn ei herbyn.

Beth am archwilio’r gweithgareddau newydd ar y platfform, er anrhydedd i Ddiwrnod Amgylchedd y Byd.
Too Good to Go

The Too Good to Go app is a great tool in the movement to reduce food waste. Everyday, restaurants and shops throw away food when it hasn't sold in time - this app allows people to locate and pick up food before it's thrown away.

Swansea University has partnered with the Too Good to Go app in 8 different locations across campus! Swansea students and staff using the app have already saved over 1,000 meals.  For more information and to download the app click here.

Too Good to Go

Mae’r ap Too Good to Go yn adnodd gwych ar gyfer lleihau faint o fwyd a gaiff ei wastraffu. Bob diwrnod, mae bwytai a siopau’n taflu bwyd sydd heb gael ei werthu o fewn yr amser – mae’r ap hwn yn galluogi pobl i ddod o hyd i fwyd o’r fath, a’i nôl, cyn iddo gael ei daflu ymaith.

Mae Prifysgol Abertawe wedi gweithio gyda Too Good to Go mewn 8 lleoliad gwahanol ledled y campws! Eisoes, mae’r myfyrwyr a’r staff sy’n defnyddio’r ap wedi rhwystro mwy na 1,000 o brydau rhag cael eu taflu ymaith. I gael rhagor o wybodaeth ac i lawrlwytho’r ap, cliciwch yma.

Beth am gystadlu yn y Gystadleuaeth Ffotograffiaeth Bioamrywiaeth

Efallai fod yna luniau gwych o fywyd gwyllt y gallwch eu tynnu yn union ar garreg eich drws. Rydym ar dân eisiau gweld beth ddaethoch chi o hyd iddo trwy lens y camera!

Ar gyfer y gweithgarwch newydd hwn ar y platfform SWell, gofynnwn ichi fentro allan i ganol natur a thynnu lluniau o unrhyw beth sy’n cyfleu bioamrywiaeth yn y ffordd orau.

Beth am gyflwyno eich llun, ennill Pwyntiau Gwyrdd a chael cyfle i ennill Aelodaeth o’r Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol!

Join the People's Nature Reserve

One of the biggest drivers of species extinction is habitat fragmentation. Simply put, this is where human barriers like crop fields or roads disconnect and shrink animal habitats. Leaving pockets of nature to do it's thing can strengthen the survival of species by giving them places to feed and hide.

Contribute your "nature pocket" by taking part in a new June activity and joining the people's nature reserve. Let an area of your garden, plant pots or local public places grow wild - no weeding or mowing. Send us how many square metres you've saved and earn Green Points.

We will show you all of the nature reserves that people have dedicated through this activity on a map at the end of the month!

Ymunwch â Gwarchodfa Natur y Bobl

Un o’r prif bethau sy’n arwain at ddiflaniad rhywogaethau yw darnio cynefinoedd. Yn syml, mae hyn yn golygu bod rhwystrau a gaiff eu creu gan bobl, fel caeau cnydau neu ffyrdd, yn torri’r cysylltiad rhwng cynefinoedd ac yn lleihau maint cynefinoedd. Wrth adael llecynnau bach o dir yn nwylo natur, bydd modd helpu rhywogaethau i oroesi trwy roi llefydd iddynt fwydo a chuddio.

Beth am gyfrannu eich “llecyn natur” trwy gymryd rhan mewn gweithgaredd newydd ar gyfer mis Mehefin ac ymuno â gwarchodfa natur y bobl. Gadewch i fannau cyhoeddus lleol, potiau plannu a rhan o’ch gardd dyfu’n wyllt – dim chwynnu, dim lladd gwair. Rhowch wybod inni faint o fetrau sgwâr a adawsoch i dyfu’n wyllt ac enillwch Bwyntiau Gwyrdd

Ddiwedd y mis, byddwn yn dangos map ichi o’r holl warchodfeydd natur a gyflwynwyd trwy’r gweithgaredd hwn!

Santander Cycles

It’s the ever-popular Santander Cycles! So popular in fact that last week, we reached the 100,000 rental mark. An incredible figure to hit since our very first hire back in 2018!

If you don't already have your own bike, you can hire one of our Santander Cycles. And as part of our staff and student wellbeing offer, Swansea University students and staff get a free annual membership, which means the first 30 minutes of every ride is free, with each 30 minutes thereafter just 50p! How great is that!

The Santander Cycles are a big hit with our staff and students with hubs right across the city, so you can travel from one hub to another without even having to own your own bike.

Beiciau Santander

Yn cyflwyno Beiciau Santander, sy’n hynod boblogaidd! Mor boblogaidd nes ein bod wedi cyrraedd y ffigwr o’r nifer sydd wedi’u llogi o 100,000 yr wythnos ddiwethaf. Ffigwr anhygoel i'w gyrraedd ers llogi am y tro cyntaf yn ôl yn 2018!

Os nad oes gennych eich beic eich hun, gallwch logi un o’n Beiciau Santander. Ac fel rhan o’n cynnig llesiant staff a myfyrwyr, gall myfyrwyr Prifysgol Abertawe gael aelodaeth flynyddol yn rhad ac am ddim, sy’n golygu bod 30 munud cyntaf pob reid am ddim, gyda phob 30 munud ar ôl hynny yn costio 50c! Pa mor wych yw hynny?

Mae Beiciau Santander yn hynod boblogaidd ymysg ein staff a myfyrwyr gyda hybiau ledled y ddinas, felly gallwch deithio o un hwb i’r llall heb orfod bod yn berchen ar eich beic eich hun hyd yn oed.
