Business and industry can play their role in realising the ambitions of the European Climate Law and in ensuring that the EU-wide recovery efforts deliver on their goals. To discuss what we can do to make this happen, the Nordic business community would like to invite you to a webinar on how we can help build a sustainable and prosperous economy designed for a net-zero emissions future.

The Nordic business federations from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden are committed to the EU ambition of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050. Therefore, we welcome the European Climate Law as an important instrument, one that underlines the EU’s determination to deliver on its ambitious climate agenda. We support Europe's Green Deal's goal to be the EU's new growth strategy guiding European business in a more sustainable and greener direction. The business community plans to do its part in making the European Green Deal a success by delivering technology, solutions, products, and innovations.

We strongly believe that the decarbonisation of the EU economy is an opportunity for building a stronger, more sustainable and more prosperous economy in Europe. This will see value creation and employment in a net-zero emission future. To ensure a speedy recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, we need to do two things simultaneously. We need to get our economies up and running again, while laying the foundation for delivering on these climate goals. The European Commission’s proposed recovery plan for Europe, NextGenerationEU, may - if designed and implemented properly - prove to be just what’s needed, accelerating the EU’s pace of the economic transition towards decarbonisation and rebooting our economy after this devastating economic downturn. This makes the Climate Law and the EU recovery plan symbiotic.
