The 6th OpenMP Developer Conference (OpenMPCon 2021) takes place on the two days before the International Workshop on OpenMP (IWOMP).  While IWOMP is aimed at researchers looking to present unpublished technical papers, OpenMPCon provides an opportunity for the wider community to present technical talks, posters, tutorials and workshops relating to their use of OpenMP.  OpenMPCon also welcomes submissions from anyone interested in leading a Birds of a Feather (BoF) session or Panel Discussion.

4th European OpenMP User Conference

The OpenMP Users Conference for European Developers is now in its 4th year and provides a forum for European developers to get together and share their experiences using OpenMP. With IWOMP and OpenMPCon taking place in Europe in 2021 it made perfect sense to integrate with OpenMPCon  – so this year the two events will share the same dates, call for submissions process, registration, and program.

Topics of Interest

Topics for 2021 include, but are not limited to:

  • The use of OpenMP in any scientific or high-performance computing (HPC) application domain
  • Development tools, including compilers, debuggers and profilers and reference implementations
  • HPC frameworks and libraries developed with OpenMP
  • Performance and portability, including benchmarking
  • Proposed OpenMP extensions
  • Using OpenMP on accelerators and GPUs
  • Best practices for using OpenMP, including Gotchas and FAQ’s
  • Comparisons with other parallel programming languages

Author Guidelines

All presenters must register for the workshop at the prevailing rate to present the material and to have their submission included in the online program.

Technical Talks

  • These require a 500-1,000 word abstract. Additional supporting materials may be submitted as a single pdf document. The final presentation slides are required to be provided to the organisers at the workshop.

Tutorials & Workshops

  • The agenda includes a day of long-format tutorials and workshop sessions that provide developers an opportunity to spend more time exploring a specific OpenMP related topic. Tutorial or Workshop leaders are asked to submit a 500-1,000 word abstract and include the preferred length of the session (hours). Additional supporting materials may be submitted as a single pdf document.

Posters

  • To encourage discussion of the latest developments in the OpenMP community, a poster session runs in parallel to the workshop. Authors should submit a 500-1,000 word abstract outlining the planned poster. Additional supporting materials may be submitted as a single pdf document.  Posters will be included in online-proceedings.  Posters should be either A1 or A0 in either Landscape or Portrait mode. The organisers request that all accepted authors arrange printing of their poster and that it should be brought to the registration desk on arrival. Note: A1 = 594 x 841mm (23.4 x 33.1 in), A0 = 841 x 1189mm (33.1 x 46.8).]

BoFs and Panel Discussions

  • These require a 500-1,000 word abstract, to include session leader information, details of any other speakers, and clearly stating the goal(s), topic, relevance to the expected OpenMP developer audience, the expected outcome and how you plan to organize the session.

Selection Criteria

All submissions will be selected based on the submitted short abstract and do not have to cover unpublished work but should be topical and appropriate for a technical audience.  The program committee will review submissions based on the following criteria.

  • Concept of the submission and its relevance and timeliness
  • Technical depth
  • Clarity of the submission
  • Findings and results of your work
  • Your credentials and expertise in the subject matter

Proceedings & Videos

The abstracts, presentation slides and posters will be published online at the OpenMPCon website.

All authors are encouraged to create a video recording of their presentation prior to the conference so that it to can be published on the website and also on the OpenMP ARB YouTube channel.
