Our Place
Our Place is a partnership project delivered with Artis Community, to offer peer support group to parents living in areas of deprivation in Rhondda Cynon Taff.
It is a free, safe and welcoming weekly group for parents with young children. Parents are offered parenting, social and technical skills, while the pre-school children make friends, play and improve their language skills through singing songs and rhymes.
It offers a support network to provide some much-needed stability for parents who may be in complex and unsupportive situations, offering advice and informal training from professionals as requested and needed.

We’re Recruiting!
“Our Place” Parent and Baby group are hiring a casual support worker for their popular weekly Parent and Baby group. We have 3 groups Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings in Pontypridd; from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
There is an opportunity for a Casual parent and baby assistant, to help us run this successful programme. Duties will include setting up of activities, preparing refreshments, supporting parents and children during the session. A childcare qualification is essential or appropriate relevant experience. An enhanced DBS certificate will be required.

Hoardings
To celebrate the redevelopment of Pontypridd YMCA building, we worked with Artis Community and artist Andy O’Rourke of Malarky Arts. The artist worked with the community to create an artwork that celebrated the past, present and future of Pontypridd YMCA.
It also encorporates the YMCA Memories project. Content from the YMCA Memories can be explored on the hoardings around the building. By downloading the Zapper app, users can unlock content by scanning the codes which appear next to the artwork.
Memories
The YMCA Memories project explored the past of Pontypridd YMCA by collecting stories, photos and videos celebrating the building and the community who had used it since 1910. The final work took the form of interviews, film and animations created by children living in Pontypridd. Some of the work can be viewed here.
The YMCA archive is currently stored at Glamorgan Archives.
