Kristine Petrosyan, Oil Market Analyst, International Energy Agency

Kristine Petrosyan leads refining and oil trade analysis for IEA’s flagship Oil Market Report. She started her career in Ernst&Young’s corporate finance department in Moscow. After earning an MSc in Energy Studies at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy in Scotland she joined BP in London working in upstream business development, natural gas trading and oil products trading. She did similar roles with Glencore in London before joining the IEA in 2012, where she initially covered long-term downstream analysis for IEA’s World Energy Outlook.

Sudharsan Sarathy, Senior oil analyst, Refinitiv Oil & Shipping Research, MENA

Sudharsan is a senior oil analyst with Refinitiv Oil & Shipping Research for the Middle East and North African market, primarily focusing on oil market fundamentals. The team generates insights for real time trading using trade flow analytics and pricing data. Prior to Refinitiv, Sudharsan has worked as a crude oil marketer in a global oil to metals conglomerate and as a trading analyst in one of the largest refining companies in the world. He is passionate about risk management and the markets in general. He is a Certified Energy Risk Professional and a Certified Financial Technician. Sudharsan holds a bachelor’s degree in production engineering and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Howard Bevan, Head of Energy, Al Attiyah Foundation

Is an internationally experienced energy industry professional with over thirty years service in the industry and with extensive Middle Eastern and International Oil Company experience. In 2015 He Joined the Al-Attiyah International Foundation Team  to provide  general energy advice in helping to establish new “Foundation”. Howard, holds an MSc  in Economics and Econometrics from  Birkbeck College - London University,  an MBA in Finance from Nottingham University and a BSc Chemistry  Hons  from  Aston University.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Howard was responsible for long term planning for several sectors of QP’s businesses for more than 10 years ,  especially refining and the GTL businesses, include price forecasting for refined products and NGL’s and producing financial models for GTL projects. He has also worked for several years in GCC  companies in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Previously he worked for an IOC in London and in the UK electricity industry.


Anne Kat Brevik, Director, LNG Research, Refinitiv

Anne Kat is engaged in building up the Global LNG Market service on Eikon, developing market analysis and forecast. Prior to joining the Global LNG team in 2013 Anne Kat worked as Commercial Manager in the Thomson Reuters Carbon Team. Moreover, she spent 10 years working at Norsk Hydro where she held several positions; as head of Nordic and Continental power market analysis team, senior analyst within oil and gas markets and negotiator of long-term gas contracts. Prior to this, Anne Kat spent multiple years in the shipping industry and holds Master of Science in Petroleum Economics from University of Bergen, Norway.


Abhishek Kumar, Senior oil analyst, Refinitiv Oil & Shipping Research, MENA

Abhishek is a senior oil analyst with Refinitiv Oil & Shipping Research for the Middle East and North African market, primarily focusing on Middle Distillates. The team generates insights for real time trading using trade flow analytics and pricing data. Abhishek started his career in 2012 and has worked across Procurement, Shipping Operations and Market Analysis during his stint in one of the largest refining company in the world. Abhishek holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Technical University, India.

Hatem ElSafty, Partner at Mazars

Mr. Hatem El-Safty, CISA, CIA, PMP an Egyptian/British and is the practice leader of Risk Assurance and Advisory service line within Mazars Qatar, with more than 20 years’ international experience in Risk Management, Corporate Governance, starting in professional services (E&Y and PwC) followed by more than 8 years in Oil and Gas industry working for BP, London, UK, and Qatargas in Doha, Qatar. Hatem established and led the first Doha Chief Audit Executives Forum, having more than 40 chief internal auditors from top organisations gathering in one place to discuss the latest risk assurance regional and global challenges. Hatem is the chairman of Institute of Risk Management Chapter leading the community of risk management professionals running regular seminars, workshops, risk awareness across different industries as well as leading governance risk related research. He obtained master’s in business & IT from Middlesex University, UK. Hatem also is regular speaker at different seminars and conferences, as well as an instructor at Qatar University and is leading risk management research. Hatem is an enthused active sportsman, he was the captain of the Egyptian National diving team (2000-2003) and currently the president of TriClub Doha (the largest triathlon club in Qatar with more than 500 active members), he is the elected-president for the second consecutive term, setting club’s direction, strategy, and leading it to sustain its exponential growth.
