Mental Health Awareness Training

In a poll of 38,000 UK university students, one in five reported having a mental health diagnosis, one in ten reported a diagnosis of depression and 75% of those said they concealed their diagnosis from their friends.

With the ongoing global pandemic, mental health is more prevalent than ever. Led by VP Societies & Sport Lucy Brown and VP Wellbeing and Diversity Henn Warwick, this session aims to reduce stigma and empower more students to be able to create open discussions about mental health. In turn, providing a more inclusive environment for people to be able to talk about their own mental health experiences. We’ll talk about symptoms you may spot, some useful signposting resources and how you can support your peers through these challenging times.
