PI Call for Letters of Interest

We welcome letters of interest from scientists with an outstanding track record and innovative vision for a new independent research group within the area of skin immunology. The LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center was founded in 2019 based on a ten-year grant. The centre addresses fundamental research questions within modern immunology and aims to become a platform for world-leading studies in skin immunology and inflammation. The primary criteria for future group leaders are excellence in fundamental research and/or translational research and a genuine interest in interacting with other researchers at the centre in order to develop it as a research centre of excellence.

The LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center is a vibrant, internationally diverse and ambitious research environment with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies located at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. The location on the twelfth floor of the Maersk Tower is ideal for collaboration and exchange with other centres and departments within the faculty and Copenhagen science community. The new group leaders will establish independent research programmes within the field of immunology and skin biology/disease. The centre provides group leaders with a generous support package, which includes their salary, support for other personnel, consumables and modern laboratory and office facilities. The group leaders are expected to supplement this package with national or international grants and/or industrial collaborations. In addition, the group leaders are expected to engage in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels at the faculty and in multidisciplinary research collaborations with other groups in the centre and within the Copenhagen area.

Letter of interest

Letters of interest should include a cover letter summarising the applicant’s career, past research accomplishments (max 1 page) and future research plan of relevance to the centre (max 5 pages), a CV, a list of publications (including an indication of up to 5 of the most significant publications) and the names of 3 references.

The letter of interest should be submitted in English to sic@sund.ku.dk no later than 16 August 2021.
