Getting the best out of National Highways!

National Highways (formally Highways England) Is mainly known for its major road projects whether they be motorways or trunk roads. However, there is another aspect to their work which is to fund and execute projects (under the heading of ‘designated funds‘). There are 4 areas of funding:

  • Environment and wellbeing
  • Innovation and modernization
  • Safety and congestion
  • Users and communities

As you will see from the table below nearly £1 billion has been set aside for schemes under the above headings. You may also be interested to note how much money remind in the fund to cover the period of 2022 to 2025, – Some £650 million! You may ask what can this money be spent on? In the list below the table we give an example of the headings for expenditure. If you have a project or initiative that might be eligible for funding National Highways they ask that you fill out an ‘Expression of interest form.’ click HERE for the form.
