Lifelong support for our Forces and their families

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. In 2019, our teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 85,000 people in need, the currently serving (both regulars and reserves), veterans from the Second World War and those who have served in more recent conflicts, as well as their families.

SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. And we are here for that person – any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us. ssafa.org.uk

SSAFA believes that the commitment of our Forces and their families deserves our lifelong support. We provide practical, emotional, and financial support to anyone who is serving or has ever served and their families.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, calls, and requests into our front-line staff for help have increased by 80% in the same period in 2019, especially from those who are older, who have health problems, who are on low incomes or self-employed and who are at the greatest risk of harm. The need for our services is as high today as it has ever been. We have had to adapt our services during the pandemic and are providing swift and timely assistance to struggling beneficiaries in areas such as food vouchers, fuel vouchers and, sadly, funeral expenses. The support we can offer in this area, as well as through our other services, can be life changing.

SSAFA is delighted to announce they are the new charity partner of the British Army Cycling Union (ACU) which is committed to inspiring soldiers to cycle, regardless of age, gender, or experience. This partnership provides SSAFA with opportunities to continue to let the military community know that SSAFA is there to support them whenever or wherever they need it.

All donations through the ACU E Series 2021 help SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity continue to provide vital frontline services and support to our Armed Forces community.
