‘Last we Left Off’ and our collaborator, technical director of COMBO BRAVO, Connor Illsley on the ‘Voices of VR’ Podcast!   Kent Bye, Producer of the ‘Voices of VR’ Podcast published his coverage of the SXSW 2024 in a series in which the production ‘Last we Left Off’ has its own episode. The episode was recorded during SXSW24 remotely on the first day of the XR exhibition - before we won the Audience Award in the category ‘XR Experience’.   ‘Last we Left Off’ is a 360-video experience and adventure comedy depicting a group of friends hiring a Dungeon Master off of Craigslist for a role-playing game, and unknowingly get a lot more than they bargained for. As the lines between fantasy and reality blur, past transgressions struggle to be resolved, and our characters' inescapable pasts come back to haunt them. SVT shows news feature of Comfort XR in action!   Comfort XR is Khora Virtual Reality’s solution for pain distraction during needle procedures and examinations for kids. The product is developed in collaboration with experts on pain distraction from The Knowledge Center for Children’s Pain at Rigshospitalet and is suitable for both sitting and lying down procedures.   In the news feature they explain one of the more painful procedures of inserting a plastic tube into the child’s wrist – A procedure previously associated with both fear and pain. At Skånes universitetssjukhus (Skåne University Hospital) they implemented Comfort XR for this treatment, and the results speak for themselves. The child undergoing the procedure gave his statement on the process following the procedure; “I was in a whole other world”. Yesterday we hosted the Danish Life Science Cluster for the Digital Mental Health Network Meeting at Khora Virtual Reality organized by Teknologisk Institut.   As mental health issues are becoming an increasing societal problem, and due to a lack of resources in the healthcare sector, digital solutions for mental health have for many years seen a growth, which has led to a lot of regulations and the establishing a new council for healthapps in Denmark.   The Danish Life Science Cluster aimed to provide insights into health tech and mental health, solutions, inspiration and the problems organizations might face. We won the Audience Award in the category ‘XR Experience’ at SXSW 2024!   Our colleagues Peter Fisher and Kathrine Fremming spent last week in Austin, Texas at SXSW to show our co-production ‘Last We Left Off’ produced in collaboration with MacLaren Productions Inc and Combo Bravo with support from Det Danske Filminstitut (DFI) and Canada Media Fund | Fonds des médias du Canada.   With lines reaching 150+ people outside the exhibition space and daily outsold tickets, it was an amazing confirmation of our work and the industry in general. We loved being able to show this project and seeing the audiences laughing and immersing themselves in comedy through VR, embracing new dimensions of storytelling!   We are so excited to have received this award, and even more excited to continue creating projects like this!
